The California Highway Patrol (CHP) wants to get the word out about their official California Motorcyclist Safety Program (CMSP). As of March 2015, more than 950,000 motorcycle riders have received CMSP training at various locations across the state. This program is administered by the CHP and offers educational courses for new and experienced motorcycle riders. All levels of riders are encouraged to enroll in these courses to improve their personal roadway safety and the safety of others. The CHP offers two basic training courses, and also encourages riders to seek additional educational opportunities throughout their motorcycle riding lives.
The Motorcycle Training Course (MTC)
Their Motorcyclist Training Course (MTC) is a 15-hour course, which includes five hours of class instruction and 10 hours of riding time. The MTC is mandatory for riders under the age of 21, but it is also strongly recommended for older riders who are looking to obtain their California Driver’s License motorcycle endorsement. Additionally, there is a Premier Program, which expands on the traditional MTC course for more educational opportunities, class room instruction and ride time.

San Diego Motorcycle Accidents
Even well trained, experienced and safety conscious motorcycle riders can become injured or killed when other drivers are distracted or engaging in dangerous or aggressive driving maneuvers. Since riders are truly at the mercy of other drivers on the road, it’s essential to get in touch with a skilled personal injury lawyer after any type of motorcycle accident. Your lawyer can be your advocate as you recover from your injuries and can help to ensure you get the compensation you deserve to cover medical bills, lost wages and other expenses associated with the accident.
