Remember when I said I would have some new boxes to review in the coming months? Well one of them braved the snowpocalypse outside and somehow landed on my doorstep!

Fortune Cookie Soap is a company, similar to Lush, that sells fresh, homemade bath and body products. While they started out selling the fortune cookie-shaped soaps, they've continued to add more and more types of products. They have been releasing boxes of their new scents/products for all their fans for quite some time now. FCS releases 4 boxes each year: one for every season. This is their Spring box, which is very much welcomed considering my apartment is buried in snow right now!

Each box costs $20, however each box contains a $10 gift card to use in their store for a full-size product! Sweet! While this is my first box, I did a bit of research and it seems that they include about 8 different sample-sized products in each box.

The Spring 2014 box is themed kind of like the garden of Good and Evil. There are "good" scents and "evil" scents, and honestly, I can't tell which ones I like more!

The Goods

1. Body Wash in "Native Nectar"

Fresh, cracked coconut. No Machine required.

I absolutely adore the smell of real coconut, and love it even more when it's in a bath and body product. Very few things smell as clean and fresh to me! This body wash smells exactly like coconut milk and has the slightest hint of a floral undertone. Such a clean and simple scent!

2. OCD Hand Sanitizer in "Afternoon Delight"

Pink watermelon dancing with fresh apricots, crowned in white florals.

If FCS's description didn't bring it home for you, let me tell you this stuff smells absolutely amazing. J thought something was wrong with me because I was yelling about how amazing this smells! The watermelon is really the main focus in the scent. Once this dries, you can smell the undertone of apricot and a very, very light hint of a floral. It's definitely more on the fruity side, though. I am definitely buying another one of these with my gift card!

3. Cuticle Butter in "Marshmallow Dreams"

Lavender sprigs draped over sage and basil, livened with a splash of vodka and a swirl of sticky, sweet marshmallow fluff.

I cannot describe this scent well enough to do it justice, but if I HAD to pick my favorite scent in the whole box, this would be it. I'm not huge into "marshmallow" scents, but this is just out of this world! I have never smelled anything like it. The most vibrant scent is the Marshmallow with a hint of lavender and a kick of vodka. It's such a unique scent and if there is any other products in this scent I plan on stocking up. The cuticle butter itself is thick and melts down quickly when rubbed on the cuticles. It feels super moisturizing!

The Evils

4. Whipped Body Cream in "Make it Rain"

Sparkling droplets of citrus and jasmine dripping with musk, clutched by bloated cedarwood boughs.

This is a VERY floral-type scent. Florals are not my thing, so this is probably my least favorite scent in the box. It smells strongly of jasmine with a very gentle citrus undertone that becomes more apparent once applied to the skin. I personally enjoy it much more once it's on my skin and absorbed rather than in the jar. For anyone that loves florals, or jasmine especially, this scent would be perfect. As far as the product itself goes, the whipped cream lotion is light and airy, but still dense. It absorbs nicely and feels really soft on the skin once absorbed.

5. Fortune Cookie Soap in "Forbidden Fruit"

Dusky verbena creeping over fresh blueberry skins and lemon zest.

Everyone in my house agreed: this smells good enough to eat! I keep smelling it and wanting it to be a piece of candy or gum! This smells very much of lemon and blueberry. It's such a delicious, mouth-wateringly fruity scent!! I haven't tried their soaps before so I can't really talk about the quality, but the scent is absolutely amazing and I'm looking forward to using it! My fortune isn't peeking out of the corner like I've seen with others, so it's probably tucked inside!

6. Steam Me Up Scotty! in "Me So Thorny"

Citrus, lavender, and french vanilla corrupted by a dark shadow of patchouli and sandalwood.

Before I get into the scent, I just want to explain what this little guy is! This is similar to a bath fizzy, however these are usually placed on the floor of your shower, out of the stream of water. The heat and mist from the shower allow the scent to come out and lift up with the steam, creating a really awesome aromatherapy experience! If you've ever walked into a pagan or new-age bookstore, then you will know what this smells like. I can't smell anything but patchouli and sandalwood. It smells like nag champa incense. It's a really potent smell, and if you're not into those kinds of intense scents then this one may not be for you. Luckily, I am a huge fan of new-age bookstores as well as what they smell like, so this one is a win for me!

7. Bath Fizzy in "The Bloom Bloom Room"

A sinfully sweet combination of Jasmine, Lilac, and Lilly of the Valley darkened with throbbing musical notes of fresh peach and citrus all swirling around the poles of decadent spun sugar.

That's a really complicated description of the scent of the this bath fizzy. Upon first whiff, this smells exactly like a sweet cotton candy. You can smell the peach and the spun sugar, however I don't really get anything "floral" out of this. I'm not complaining, though! I absolutely love this little guy! I would have taken it out of the bag for the picture, alas it seemed to get a bit crumbly in shipping. However this is a bath fizzy, and you're supposed to crumble them in your bath water anyway, so it's all good!

8. Perfume Oil in "Venus Fly Trap"

Bergamot, narcaisse and musk lurk beneath delicate notes of water orchid,, sparkling lemon and pink jasmine.

This is one of the more complicated scents in the bunch, but it's absolutely lovely. First whiff will give off the bergamot and lemony citrus notes, however as it dries down the the water orchid and jasmine musk begins to emerge. It's a very layered scent with an interesting mix of citrus and florals. As I said above, I'm not usually huge on florals but the bright citrus notes in this perfume make for a really beautiful scent overall!

I am so impressed with Fortune Cookie Soap! Their products have such beautiful scents and seem to be a great quality. I love the themes and the idea behind the quarterly soap boxes, and I love how they also give you a $10 gift card so you can get one of your favorites in a full size! I think my only problem is going to be deciding on what to get!

If you're interested in getting the next Fortune Cookie Soap Box, you will need to go HERE to sign up. However, remember you will be charged when you sign up. The next box does not ship out until May 12th, and it will be the Summer box. I would jump on this when you can, because subscription spots each season tend to sell out pretty quickly!
