This article includes social media advertising sizes of Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. It contains all the specific dimensions and also a quick guide in the end for easy reference.

LinkedIn Display Advertising

On LinkedIn, there are three different types of ad-placements when it comes to Display advertising. The dimensions mentioned below are the official dimensions from LinkedIn.

Medium Rectangle (300 x 250 pixels): This is an ad that appears above the fold on the right hand side of your page. The Medium Rectangle ad appears on the home, profile, company, and group pages, as well as LinkedIn Today.



Wide Skyscraper (160 x 600 pixels): The tall ad that appears on a user’s inbox and message pages.



Leaderboard (728 x 90 pixels): This landscape style image appears at the bottom of certain feeds, making it one of the last things users see before leaving the site.



These display ads give marketers a lot more freedom to be creative than the self-serve ads.

Facebook Display Advertising

Page Post Link or Page Post Offer:

The text limit is about 90 characters with a link title limit of 25 characters and an image aspect ratio of 1.91:1.

We recommend you to upload images of size 1200 x 627 pixels. Remember, if the image is smaller than 470 x 246 pixels, the image will render as a thumbnail.

Desktop: 470 x 246 pixels

Mobile: 560 x 292 pixels

Sidebar: 254 x 133 pixels

Page Post Image:

The text limit is about 90 characters with an image aspect ratio of 1:1.

The desktop display resolution of the image is 470 x 394 pixels, whereas on mobile it is 618 x 618 pixels. The images will scale to fit the longest edge at 394 pixels on desktop and 618 pixels on mobile.

Although, with the recent update by Facebook, the ad image resolution of the page post on the sidebar has been increased to a size of 254 x 133 pixels with a consistent aspect ratio of 1:91:1.

We recommend you to upload an image size of 1200 x 1200 pixels.

Page Post Event and Page Post Like Ad:

In terms of Event Post- The text limit is about 90 characters with an event title limit of 25 characters. Image aspect ratio is fixed to 2.7:1. We recommend you to upload images of size 1200 x 444 pixels.

On the desktop, the resolution is 470 x 174 pixels; on mobile the resolution is 560 x 210 pixels and on sidebar it would be 254 x 94 pixels.

In terms of Event Page-

The Desktop resolution would be 784 x 295 pixels and for event sidebar would be of 254 x 94 pixels.

Page Post Video:

The text limit is 90 characters with image aspect ratio is fixed to 16:9. The maximum video size is 1 GB and the duration is of 20 minutes.

On desktop, the resolution is of thumbnail would be 470 x 264 pixels; on mobile the resolution is 560 x 560 pixels – where the longest edge will scale to fit 560 px – and on sidebar it would be 254 x 143 pixels.

Desktop App Ad:

In this type of ad, the app name is limited to 25 characters with a text description of 90 characters and image ratio of 1.91:1.

We recommend you to upload image of size 470 x 276 pixels.

Desktop: 470 x 264 pixels

Sidebar: 254 x 133 pixels

Domain Ad:

This type of ad runs only on desktop’s sidebar with a title of 25 characters and a text description of 90 characters and image ratio of 1.91:1. We recommend you to upload image of size 1200 x 864 pixels.

Quick Reference :

Sidebar: 254×133 pixels.

Mobile App Ad:

In this type of ad, the app name will not be displayed but a text description of the app will be displayed, with a limit of 90 characters and image ratio of 1.91:1.

We recommend you to upload image of size 100 x 627 pixels.

Quick Reference: Mobile: 560 x 292 pixels

Mobile App Video Ad:

In this type of ad, the app name will not be displayed (again) but a text description of the app will be displayed, with a limit of 90 characters and image ratio of 16:9.

We recommend you to upload video of size 55mb with maximum 15 second duration. MP4 would be the best video format to use.

Twitter Display Advertising

Twitter Lead Generation Card:

A Twitter Lead Generation card can contain a short description of your program (50 characters maximum), a card image of 4:1 aspect ratio.

Twitter recommends an image size of 600×150 pixels.

Promoted Tweet with Images:

The images need to be about 440 x 220 pixels centered and aligned vertically. Otherwise Twitter will resize them and you may lose part of your message!

If the image’s height is equal to or less than 1/2 the width a preview, the preview image will be the same as the image shown when expanded.

We recommend you to keep the image less than 3MB with a 2:1 aspect ratio for in-stream preview.
