Bern Unlimited has an interesting story.  Founded in 2004 by Dennis Leedom, Dennis was an avid outdoor athlete.  He enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, biking, and skating.  Of course as a sportsman he had his share of tumbles and bumps and bruises while doing his favorite sports.  He realized the importance of head protection early on and quickly noticed that he needed a new helmet for every sport.

In 2004 inspiration struck and he formed a group to develop a new design.   His first thought was safety and then integration.  Why not have a design that could be adapted for various sports.  He put together a team including Bruce Wilson, Jonathan Baker, and John Quigley to develop and design the new helmet as well as figure out manufacturing and delivery to market.   They used the Lucky Bell Plastic Factory in China to manufacture the product based on shared values of integrity.

Bern as a brand was launched in September of 2005.  As luck would have it, Seth Westcott, wearing a Bern helmet, won Olympic Gold in snowboard cross at the Torino Games in February 2006.  After his win wearing the Bern helmet, Bern’s website went from 120 hits a day to 9,850 a day.  Wow!  Seth followed up his win at the Torino Games in Italy with another win in Canada in 2010.  Bern has never looked back.

Bern has put together a line of helmets for men and women.  The helmets cover skating, snow sports, bike helmets and accessories.  If you love to be active you should check out these wonderful helmets.
