In some ways being a  mom allows me to re-live my childhood again. Some of the cartoons are so much fun to watch, and they stir up some great conversations with my children.  One of our family’s favorite shows is Doc McStuffins. I love the main character – Doc McStuffins – because she models the type of character traits I want my boys to have – kindness, compassion, patience, problem-solving skills, and she isn’t afraid to ask for help from her mom and dad when she needs it.

We decided to get the boys together with my niece and host a super fun Doc McStuffins Slumber Party. The kids had a blast coloring free printables, playing doctor, dressing-up in costumes, hosting a post-slumber-party breakfast, playing games, and playing with our  very own homemade mobile clinic. If you keep reading, I’ll share our ideas for games and fun activities for a fun and memorable Doc McStuffins Party.  By the way, I think these games and fun activities are good not only for a slumber party, they would be great for a Doc McStuffins Birthday Party or any party based on the Disney Junior character. Games and Fun Activities for a Doc McStuffins Slumber Party

If you’re looking to create a themed party for your children, you can find everything you need at Walmart. We purchased our Doc McStuffins bedding, American Greetings Party Supplies in the Disney Junior character theme – Doc McStuffins, and a Disney Junior toy Doc McStuffins Doctor Bag, doll, and Doc McStuffins Costume while shopping for our weekly groceries. We wanted to create a fun, playful atmosphere for our Doc McStuffins themed slumber party. Even if you’re not planing a sleep-over, you’ll find lots of fun ideas for Doc McStuffins-themed party play including a bunch of free printables and inexpensive craft ideas in this blog post.

If you’ve been following my blog then you know I love to create and share free printables with my subscribers. Did you know that Disney Junior also shares loads of free printables and games online?  We started with some of their online printables by creating colorful artwork and crafts with the kids.

Of course, I couldn’t resist the urge to create our very own Big Book of Boo Boos Game. It’s 20 game cards based on two Doc McStuffins DVDs – affiliate links included in case you’d like to read more about these movies:

Doc McStuffins Friendship is the Best Medicine, and

Doc McStuffins Mobile Clinic.

The game inspires imaginative play. Each card represents a diagnosis and cure for a character from the series. There are four different ways to play with the Bog Book of Boo Boos game cards. It’s loads of family fun for everyone in your family.

The Big Book of Boo Boos Game is a FREE printable available for Happy and Blessed Home subscribers {I’ll be adding the game to the subscriber’s only section this week}.  If you’re not yet a subscriber to HappyandBlessedHome.com, I’ve written a guest post about this fun freebie on my friend Heather’s blog, Frugal Homeschool Family. To set the stage for our slumber party, we dressed up my niece’s bedroom in some colorful Doc McStuffins bedding and American Greetings Party Supplies in the Doc McStuffins theme.

My niece’s stuffed Minnie Mouse and lamb were the perfect first patients of our very own Doc McStuffins. My niece is wearing a Doc McStuffins Costume - it’s super cute and comes with the lab coat, dress, headband and stethoscope. Doc McStuffins decided to treat Mini Mouse first with some cuddles.

With our Big Book of Boo Boo’s game we diagnosed three patients who needed “medicine.”

The boys decided to get in on the dress-up action with a pink light-up cowboy hat and Doc McStuffins toy stethoscope.

I waited until everyone fell asleep before I decorated with our party supplies.  I took this photo the next morning. You can find everything you need for a fun and memorable party on Walmart’s party supply aisle.  I love the bright colors and kid-friendly extras I found while shopping.  I think the party decor transformed our breakfast area. What do you think?  Like the results? My husband was “wowed” and the kids couldn’t wait to play with everything. I decorated with tons of stuffed animals so the kids would have lots of “patients” for a fun day of play.

For breakfast I laid out pink and sparkly breakfast fare. Pink sprinkles, heart-shaped and flower-shaped french toast, red chocolate shaped flowers in the center of buttermilk pancakes, fresh strawberries, raspberries, milk, and orange juice. I used cookie cutters to cut the bread into shapes for the french toast flower and heart shapes, and a flower shaped mold for the red choclate-flavored candy melt for the pancakes.  I sprinkled everything with powdered sugar and pink sprinkles and added fresh strawberries and raspberries for a delicious breakfast.

We finished with a fun craft – we created our very own Doc McStuffins Mobile Clinic.  We used an old bankers box that I was previously using for baby clothes as the base of our mobile clinic.  I wanted something with a lid,but you could easily use any box for this project. I purchased all of the supplies in the Walmart party aisle.

Directions to create a Doc McStuffins Mobile Clinic:

It helps to have image to look at when creating this craft. You can refer to the collage below.

Wrap the box, gift-wrap style, with a purple tablecloth (doubled) and seal it with clear packing tape. Wrap the lid too.

Use purple parachute cord (craft aisle) for the pull cord and tie it to the box handle through a small opening made in the purple tablecloth cover.

Attach small black paper plates to the sides of the box via more clear packing tape. A free printable is included in this post for the wheel centers.  Print and cut the wheel centers and add them to the paper plates.

Find duct tape with a floral pattern. Cut the duct tape down the middle to make it narrower.

Trim the pink foam to make a gentle curve to match the pattern on Doc’s actual mobile clinic.

Attach the pink foam to the side of the box with the floral duct tape.

Create the tool-holder strip of tape: tape the sticky side of a strip of the floral tape with more tape to make sure the tools wouldn’t stick to the tape. But sure to leave enough of the sticky part of the tape exposed so it can stick to the pink foam.

Tape the sticky part of the floral tape  to the pink foam.

Insert tools into tool-holder strip of tape. Close lid.

After our get-together ended, the boys continued to play with the mobile clinic – repairing toys and doctoring them.
