For our Uppsala office, we are now looking for a Director, Global Customer Success and Strategy, to join our executive team. In this role, you will be leading our global customer success group, and collaborate closely with our growth and development teams. You will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and the Chief Design Officer. Your focus will be what best practice strategies make our customers successful. Together with your team and the whole company, you will develop and spread this expertise for an audience which includes our current customers, our future customers, and the world. The job includes extensive worldwide travel.

The core of the role is to develop, in collaboration with your team and the CEO, best practice strategies and messages for each of our target markets and industry verticals. For example, there are large similarities in how Favro brings unique capabilities that benefits a Montreal game studio head, a NYC advertising agency managing director, and a Palo Alto venture capital investment manager. However, key to our global success is that we can show how each type of company and person specifically can benefit in their context and with their challenges. And we need the right message to bring this insight to the wider world.

You will develop these best practices and messages by collaborating with your team, listening in their expertise and experiences from the front, as well as working closely with the CEO and other executives. You will also be traveling the world meeting with beachhead customers yourself.

Experience, Personality and Skills

We believe that success in this role, is that you can walk into a meeting with a new kind of customer, listen to their challenges, and in real time formulate best practices and show them these solutions, and then back at the office formulate these best practice strategies for blogs, ads, speeches, videos, templates, and input to the development teams so they can prioritise the right features. Our growth team will then be your megaphone spreading the message to the world. You should also be comfortable speaking at international conferences in front of larger groups, as well as smaller, more exclusive audiences.

Equal parts people skills, technology skills, creativity, and drive will benefit this role, as well as relentless pursuit of excellence, and ability to motivate and inspire others.

To summarize, we are looking for someone with:

Ability to, during a client meeting, quickly grasp the client’s core challenges, and formulate relevant Favro solutions to those

High level and speed of analytical thinking and great listening skills

Ability to formulate best practices in distilled form

Entrepreneurial mindset

Proven client-facing skills

Proven skills in team management and a shown talent for executive leadership

We think that you may have a few years’ experience from being out on ’the battlefield’ as either a management consultant or  working at a startup. Candidates will be evaluated continuously, so if this sounds appealing to you, please submit your application as soon as possible.

About Hansoft

Hansoft is a Swedish software company with offices in Uppsala, San Francisco, Kyiv, Tokyo and Ho Chi Minh City. Some of the most innovative teams around the world depend on Hansofts expertise and apps in order to realize their vision. We built this success being self financed, fast growing, and profitable. Two years in a row we’ve become “Gasell company of the year” in our region. Then, a few years ago, we had a vision for something even bigger. We wanted to bring the agile way of working to all kinds of organisations. Beyond software developers to teams in sales, marketing, operations, customer relations, executive management, and even NGOs and political organisations. We wanted to create an app as easy to use as the simplest tools, yet powerful to enable teams to align towards the bigger goals of their organization.

To realize our vision we partnered with top VC firm Creandum, raised USD10mm, and got to action. We now have built this new product called Favro, and we’re bringing agile to all – helping teams become hyper-adaptable and allowing organizations to become more organic in their way of working.

To get an understanding of our company culture, as well as our vision, please read our manifesto and our company values below.

Manifesto

For more than a decade…

…we have made tools for project management and team collaboration in software development. People depend on us to become more efficient and innovative when building everything from video games to space rockets and satellites. We help everyone from small startups to thousands of engineers work better together by using our tools.

Working with these teams around the world has taught us what practices unite the most successful ones. It’s not how much money you have, or how many people you throw at a problem. In the end, it is all about how you react to change. The teams that succeed are faster and more agile when reacting to changing customer demands, competition, public opinion, or even the weather. They don’t wait around for challenge to turn into crisis. They don’t organize in traditional structures.

Instead, we found that they change continuously and develop organically, more like a living organism than a static machine. In these organizations processes emerge from people making each team work in their own best way towards the bigger goals they all share.

We want to bring this organic way of working to the world. Not only to engineers but to teams working with sales, support, operations, marketing, legal, finance, logistics, and management. Imagine the potential if everyone was super-empowered and agile, yet aligned towards the bigger goals. We think this is the path of the most successful organizations in the future.

Since before the stone age, we have used tools to make things happen. It is in our nature. Nowhere is this more evident than with our laptops and smartphones. They’re an inseparable part of ourselves. This is why we built Favro.

We want an app that empowers people to create really great things together. An app that is simple enough for everyone to use yet powerful enough for the complexities of work in today’s world. We want an app that visualizes work on your laptop, tablet and smartphone, and lets you choose how simple or advanced tooling you want getting things done.

An app that lets you collaborate in your team, whatever processes you have agreed on. An app that lets you collaborate with other teams, even if they are outside of your organization. An app that integrates with your favourite apps for calendar, chat, documents and more.

This app didn’t exist before. Now it does.

It’s called Favro.

Culture for success at Hansoft

At Hansoft, everyone in our talented teams is working with a high level of autonomy. Individual decision-making is a key part in success, therefore we value personal qualities, skills and attitudes more than the exact experience you have in your CV. These are our values:

Being a project manager in every situation

Every member of the Hansoft team needs be a good project manager. Being able to take the ball and run with it. Not drop it, and not leave it, but bring it all the way to the goal making the job done done. Sometimes this means independently leading yourselves, sometimes leading colleagues or customers. In situations when information is missing you are actively seeking it out yourselves. It can mean finding what the acceptance criteria for excellence and success is, and it can mean finding who the person is that can help you solve your task.

Always aiming for excellence

In the highly competitive global market where we act, an awesome product and great service is necessary, not only for our business success, but for our survival. We need to have the best product that solves our customers problems better than anything else. We need the most efficient ways of working, and the most brilliant people. Without this, we will not succeed, since the global opportunity of making and selling a software also means a global competition with the best. In some situations, excellence means pure perfection going above and beyond, but far from always. More often the challenge is about striking the right balance between perfectionism, speed, cost, and effort. Always applying the best of our judgment to make those calls is what makes us great.

Mastering deep listening

There is a difference between just hearing what someone says, and actually understanding what is being said, and what’s not being said. To do this successfully, one needs to not only  focus and pay attention, it also requires empathy for the other person’s perspective and analytical skills computing what it means. At Hansoft, we have found that people who  are good at  deep listening are often better at solving problems together with their peers, and colleagues in both directions in the line of command. They understand, extrapolate and are able to employ this understanding with  direction and execution in their work. In our interaction with customers, deep listening makes us able to rapidly help our customers be successful by using the right solutions and recommendations.

Team and company first

In many ways, Hansoft is like an awesome jazz band. While it is true that we need stars on every instrument we make magic by working efficiently together as a team. Everyone earn their way through showing results, not through previous experience, academic titles, a pretty CV or by playing the political game.

This means that you are always putting the team and loyalty to what is best for the company before a personal agenda or prestige. We communicate candidly with each other and are generous with constructive feedback. This also means you see what the team needs in order to succeed, and not only yourself.

Positive outlook in every situation

For some people the glass is always half full and for some it is always half empty. Being an entrepreneurial company that all the time breaks new ground and tries new things, we will also constantly run into problems that needs to be solved. We have found that people that have a positive outlook, and see solutions and opportunities wherever problems arise are much more successful. However, we have no tolerance for people seeing every challenge in a negative light, pointing fingers of blame. We have found that this spreads negativity and drains the team of energy. This is not to be confused with open-minded, purposeful, critical, Socratic questioning and discussion. That is an important part of constructive and methodical problem solving. The person who in every challenge, small and large, sees an opportunity for learning and problem solving, will be a winner and positive contribution to our culture and business success.

Drive and high energy

Hansoft is an entrepreneurial company and we need people with drive and a high energy level to outperform our competition. It is not enough being smart, we also need to work hard. It is also more fun to work with people with drive, energy, and high enthusiasm for the goals and tasks ahead.
