Fairview Farm at Mecox

“We want people to have wholesome family entertainment,” says farm owner Harry Ludlow of Fairview Farm’s eight-acre corn maze, which has attracted a loyal following for years. Customers also flock to the farm’s store for the pies, guacamole, and pesto, all made by the Ludlow family, including wife Barbara, daughter Meredith, and son Nathan. 69 Horsemill Lane, Water Mill, 537-6154

Hanks Farmstand

“You can spend your whole day with us,” says owner Lynne Kraszewski. Kraszewski likes to see visitors “get back to being families.” 324 Country Road 39, Southampton, 726-4667

North Sea Farms

This Southampton destination is known as the “small farm with a little bit of everything.” More than the usual farm-stand fare, here you’ll find fresh-cut flowers, piping-hot bagels, and Miss Julia’s BBQ sauce, a local staple. Come fall, its free-range turkeys are a high-demand Thanksgiving must. 1060 Noyac Road, Southampton, 283-0735

Pike Farms

Approximately a third of the fields are dedicated to sweet corn—the sweetest kinds they can find. Food Network personality Ina Garten is a fan, and even has a corn pudding recipe based on Pike Farms’ corn, what she calls in her blog “simply the best corn in the world.” 82 Sagg Main St., Sagaponack

Round Swamp Farm

Quality is a top priority here. “We’re very fussy about everything,” says manager Lisa Niggles, whose family has owned Round Swamp for more than 300 years. Summer is the “prime season,” as its heirloom tomatoes, corn, and herbs are harvested in the field and brought straight to the store. 184 Three Mile Harbor Road, East Hampton, 324-4438

Serene Green, Inc.

This farm stand sources from the North and South Forks—fresh seafood pulled from Montauk and Shinnecock waters, mozzarella from Hampton Bays, as well as assorted berries and herbs from its own farm are among its specialties. 3980 Noyac Road, Sag Harbor, 334-6311
