No. 1 Ocean Lakes (1-0) at Kellam (0-2)

The scoop Kellam is 0-2 at its new stadium - the Roy Ammons Athletic Complex off West Neck Road - and getting a first home victory this week is a tall task. Ocean Lakes is coming off a bye after beating Tallwood 63-15 in the opener. Kellam surrendered 400-plus yards in a 48-27 loss to Tallwood last week. Kellam RB Maliek Baker has rushed for 198 yards. Larry Ocean Lakes, 38-20. Jami Ocean Lakes, 42-20.

Landstown (1-1) at No. 7 Cox (1-0)

The scoop Cox has won back-to-back games in the series by a 38-6 margin, and the Falcons are coming off a 369-yard game in last week's season-opening victory against First Colonial. RB Mike DeMasi led the rushing attack with 108 of the Falcons' 243 yards. Landstown held off Kempsville for a 9-6 victory last week - coach Tommy Reamon's 40th victory in six seasons with the Eagles. Green Run (1-1) at Tallwood (1-1)

The scoop Both have losses to Beach District heavyweights: Green Run to Salem last week and Tallwood to Ocean Lakes in the opener. And both teams can put up numbers: Green Run RB Anthony Scott has 165 rushing yards and QB Austin Lynch has thrown for 371 yards; Tallwood piled up 477 total yards last week - 186 on the ground from RB Kentory Matthews. Larry Tallwood, 28-20. Jami Tallwood, 21-13.

Princess Anne (0-2) at Kempsville (0-2)

The scoop These teams are a combined 3-21 since last season's start, but both have shown signs of progress. Kempsville's two losses are by three points each, while Princess Anne dropped its opener to Green Run by a point and stayed with Bayside in a 14-0 loss last week. Kempsville has kept teams guessing: Five players have gained 60-plus yards, led by Rashaun Johnson (210 yards). Aaron Glover's 118 rushing yards lead the Cavs. Larry Princess Anne, 23-21. Jami Princess Anne, 20-19.

Trinity Episcopal (0-2) at Norfolk Academy (2-0)

Time 4 p.m.

The scoop Norfolk Academy has surged out of the gates, outscoring its first two opponents 82-14. QB Allan Parrott has thrown for 401 yards and seven touchdowns, while RB Demitri Boyce has rushed for 213 yards. Trinity Episcopal, of Richmond, has been outscored 78-14 by Collegiate School and St. Christopher's.

Friday

Hickory (0-1) at No. 3 Western Branch (1-0)

The scoop Western Branch opened its season last week with a 21-20 victory over Bethel. The Bruins plan to honor players who have had their jerseys retired and recognize any former players in attendance. Hickory is coming off a bye after losing its season opener to Norview. Larry Western Branch, 35-14. Jami Western Branch, 28-17.

No. 9 Norcom (1-0) at Deep Creek (0-1)

The scoop Norcom has dominated this series in recent years, winning five consecutive games - three by shutout - since Deep Creek's victory in 2007. The Hornets figure to see a healthy dose of Norcom RB Charles Wiggs, who chewed up 200 yards and scored three touchdowns in a season-opening victory against Lakeland. Larry Norcom, 26-13. Jami Norcom, 30-14.

Great Bridge (1-0) vs. Granby (0-2)

The scoop Great Bridge got back on the winning track last week after an 0-10 campaign last season, beating Lakeland 29-12 in its opener. RB Jaleen Booker had 92 of the Wildcats' 258 rushing yards. Granby has back-to-back losses to teams from the Peninsula, including a last-second, 25-22 setback against Kecoughtan last week. Granby's 45-9 victory over Great Bridge last season snapped a five-game losing streak in this non-district series. Larry Granby, 24-20. Jami Granby, 20-19.

Booker T. Washington (1-1) at Wilson (0-2)

The scoop Booker T. Washington is coming off a triple-overtime road victory in Richmond last week against John Marshall. RB Lamont Mayo punched in the game-winner and was 1 of 5 Bookers to score in the game. Wilson, winless since midway through the 2010 season (26 straight games), lost 32-0 to King's Fork last week. Larry BTW, 26-20. Jami BTW, 22-12.

Bishop Sullivan (3-0) at St. Anne's-Belfield (0-1)

Time 4:30 p.m.

The scoop These teams so far have headed in different directions: Bishop Sullivan Catholic has scored 150 points in its first three games; St. Anne's-Belfield lost 22-19 to Virginia Episcopal in its opener - the Saints' 11th straight defeat. Bishop Sullivan QB Blake LaRussa has thrown for 942 yards and 15 TDs.

Atlantic Shores (2-1) at Portsmouth Christian (0-3)

The scoop Atlantic Shores, paced by RB Brehon Britt's 128 rushing yards and three TDs, blanked Massanutten Military 50-0 last week. The Seahawks have scored 109 points in three games. Portsmouth Christian has surrendered 125 points in three losses, but those have come against perennial heavyweights Bishop Sullivan, Norfolk Christian and Isle of Wight.

Fuqua School (2-1) at Greenbrier Christian (1-1)

The scoop Greenbrier Christian has had a roller-coaster two weeks, winning 60-12 over Hampton Christian and losing 47-7 to Norfolk Academy. Fuqua, of Farmville, had victories over Brunswick Academy and Kenston Forest before last week's 40-37 loss to Fishburne Military.

Saturday

No. 2 Oscar Smith (1-0) at Indian River (0-1)

Time 3 p.m.

The scoop Oscar Smith must come down from the high of a 42-2 victory over Lake Taylor on ESPNU to the Southeastern District, where the Tigers have won 56 consecutive games since 2006. Oscar Smith RB DaShawn McClease had a modest opener - 18 carries, 61 yards - but he figures to get plenty of reps against an Indian River defense that surrendered 330 rushing yards in a loss to Hampton. Norfolk Christian (2-1) at Nansemond-Suffolk (2-0)

The scoop This is a key early Tidewater Conference game. Norfolk Christian is 2-0 in TCIS play, while the Saints are playing their conference opener. Nansemond-Suffolk has rushed for 543 yards in its first two games, led by David Gough (175 yards) and Addison Peak (157 yards).
