While the Spartans are all around better units, the clones would take the fight due to the fact that their guns could split Spartans in half. Even taking the highest calculations for Spartan shields (I believe it was Fall of Reach where Master Chief laughed off 50 mm  autocannons), Clone Commandos would have very little trouble overwhelming the spartans with eight megajoule-producing blasters.</div>If they were actually that powerful, maybe. But as I said above somewhere, the victor isn't always decided by how good their tech is; sometimes it takes superior skill and training, which the S-IIIs probably have, especially the better ones like Noble 6 and the Head Hunters. Cloak, stealth kill a commando and take his weapon (It doesn't matter how good Clone Commando shields and armor supposedly are, they still can't protect from an old-fashioned knife-to-spine or a neck snap), repeat step one and two until end.</div>Clone Commandos have bulletproof armour with a HUD. UNSC infantry stealth technology is also lacking. So while the Spartans might be overall better units, fight is like putting 1783 U.S Army Ranger against modern USA's TALOS units (Yes, TALOS isn't fully operational, but the idea is to have the armour system available for all soldiers from basic infantry to Navy SEALs). If we take some basic infantry and put them in Talos, then throw them against Rangers or Coldstream guards from 1783 or the Black Watch, while the 200 year-old units have far more experience and training, and better tactics, the TALOS units stomps his opponent because of the technological advantages he has. The biggest of which is that his armour is impervious to the weapons his adversaries are using.

Another thing I should put out, Spartans' Titanium blades aren't going to do much but scratch the paint-job of Commando armour.

Also, I also doubt that blasters should be 8 mJ, but those are the official statistics.

I looked on the Star Wars wiki, and I have seen absolutely no mention on how good their stealth technology is or if they have any methods of detecting enemies in active camouflage (and UNSC stealth tech is pretty good). And that active camo works really well with the S-IIIs' skill and years of stealth training. But regardless, it doesn't matter how good armor is, there would always be areas that could be exploited easily. See? http://static1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20071004023936/starwars/images/6/61/CloneCommando1600.jpg

Neck, arm pits, elbows, pelvis, and knees are all more exposed compared to everywhere else on the body armor. UNSC combat knives and ballistics weaponry shouldn't have much trouble penetrating those (and the visor), especially if the knife is being used with super strength of a Spartan.

But as I said multiple times above, I highly doubt that the official statistics are actually accurate.
