Once again.....a "BIG Hi" to everyone ....as we have just obviously joined this very cool site.
What with our Christmas season almost over for yet another year......I can not wait, to get started on our Halloween projects, for 2014.
That said, we are fairly new to this FUN New Hobby of ours.....where we have this PASSION and LOVE, for decorating for Halloween.
Funny how things change.
We were and still are, big fans of Christmas......what with all the Lights and Decorations and just trying to recapture that very Special and Magical feeling that we all had as kids.
But.....for some reason......Halloween is just that much more FUN.
Christmas lasts for an entire Month or more.....where as, Halloween ...is really only for that One Night.
Why is it?......that we get so much more Satisfaction....out of One night of Halloween, than we ever did or do......receive from a Month long celebration of Christmas?
What is it......with Halloween?
Why is Halloween........so much MORE FUN.......than Christmas could ever be......for us?
Halloween...like Christmas is for the KIDS ( In all of us!).
What ever the reason,......for us......we Love Halloween...because it give us the Opportunity to make "Halloween Night" a Very Special and Memorable and FUN experience, for all of the little kids.....who are out Trick a Treating for the night.
It is just lots of FUN.....to make it Lots of FUN.....for the Kids ....and for the Kids....in all of us!
As you all know......the Adults are having just as much FUN......as the Kids are.....while they are checking out....our Grave Yards....our Props......and all of the things that we do.....that make Halloween Night sooooo much FUN and Special for us all.
Yup......I LOVE to write and ramble......Sorry about that! LOL
So......what with saying Hi to everyone out there,.....Everyone that knows more, than I will ever know... about decorating for Halloween....I also wanted to ask, a pretty simple question.
My question is.....I am wanting to get a lot more into Animated - MOVING Halloween Props and Displays......with out Breaking the Bank or with out needing an Engineering Degree, in order to make things MOVE.......on a limited budget.
Soooooo......I am dying to hear......the "CHEAPEST" way and the "EASIEST" Way and the "SIMPLEST Way.....to make these things MOVE?
I really wish, that I had paid closer attention in Shop Class when I was in School ( a million years ago now lol) as to how to do the simplest things.....Ya.....my Bird House was a Mess! lol
MOVING Objects ,like Coffin Lids, Ghosts, Goblins and moving Tomb Stones are so much more FUN and Scary to look at, ....than just stationary props could ever be.
Air Canons and Pneumatic devices ( Which are sooooo Cool) are way above my understanding or my own challenged IQ level!
I could barely spell Pneumatic ( Errrrrr is the spelling correct? LOL).
There has to be.....some very Cheap electric motors around or in other devices, that can be used to MOVE the things, in our Grave Yard?
For instance, I used a Motor out of our Christmas Outdoor Wire Rein Deer......to move my Coffin Lid this year.
The motor was used, to make our Rein Deers head....go up and down.
It worked great!
My question is......can we Buy just the motor?
Are these little motors available for purchase, by themselves ....."without" having to buy the entire Rein Deer?
I am wanting to know or SEE......some examples ( Pictures work the best for me) of how you other members.....get your Props to MOVE and come alive.
I am wanting to make things....go up and down.....very much like, my wife wants my Viagra to work on me! LOL
Just simple Up and Down movements of Coffin Lids raising and lowering.......Tomb Stones going back and forth......a Body moving back and forth in our Electric Chair....may a motor that will make a Body SHAKE Violently?
I would LOVE to hear and "SEE" what you others have used.....and how you set it up...to work.
I used an Old Ceiling Fan ( Painted Black and HIDDEN up in a Tree) .....on a Dimmer Switch ......with a few blades removed.....to make some of my Ghosts MOVE and FLY around my Grave Yard .
It was EASY......CHEAP and "Very Very Simple".....very much like myself! lol
Soooooo........we are just 4 days removed from Christmas and I can hardly wait.....to get started on Halloween Night!
IF you can give me some Tips and Advice as to where to look to buy some CHEAP Little Motors.....or.....if you can give me some advice, on what you have done..in order to make your Props MOVE......I would LOVE to hear and SEE what you have done, with your own Displays.
Keep in mind.....that I am not all the Bright or gifted as a Handyman ( Just ask m Wife!) ! LOL
