Sophisticated dining at Pullman Sydney Airport

Airports aren’t exactly the place we’d think of to have a meal with friends, however the latest addition to the Sydney Airport area may be soon be on everyone’s radar as the hottest spot for exquisite food at great prices.

Included in the unveiling of the new Pullman location in Mascot, the newest luxury hotel in the vicinity and the 14th Pullman property in Australia, was the introduction of Mobius Bar and Grill. It’s a significant development for the Sydney Airport region as it demonstrates the improvement in airport food options, a strategy currently being implemented in transportation hubs across the globe.

Airports all around the world are upping their culinary game, as Singapore’s Straits Food Village in Changi Airport wins the award for best airport food court. Over in the UK, Gatwick may be lauded for its efficiency in airport parking and single runway operation, but the London passenger hub is also an extension of Jamie Oliver’s brand, with the celebrity chef having opened three establishments under his name. While it isn’t located inside the airport, Mobius Bar and Grill offers fine dining to incoming travellers to Sydney, as well as draws more attention from local residents to this particular part of town.

The main idea behind Mobius is that they think global and cook local—international food using regionally produced ingredients to highlight modern Australian food and cuisines from the four corners of the globe. Worldly flavours on small plates, the dishes are designed for sharing, whether you fancy some fresh oysters, decadent wagyu steak or a delicious rack of lamb.

The menu also includes several items suited for airport staff and other workers in the area on their break, with an all-day breakfast burger and mac and cheese balls among other choices to satisfy their hunger. If it’s a quick breakfast that they are after, they can purchase artisanal breads and pastries from Sonoma Bakery. There’s even a burger and hotdog menu with items available for takeaway if they need to work through lunch.

Desserts and cocktails are equally as colourful and exciting as the rest of the menu, with their house-smoked ice cream and signature beverages that appeal both to the eyes and the palate. And if you happen to be around the restaurant at 5:30, the chefs present their ‘Secret Snack’ to all the guests and do so every day on the dot.

Mobius Bar and Grill is open for all meals daily from 6:00am to 11:00pm.
