Plaza del Sol

Construction started this month expanding social and recreational amenities at the award-winning Pelican Preserve community located in beautiful Fort Myers. The Plaza del Sol Town Center at Pelican Preserve will be adding fitness rooms, a resort-style poolside bar, outdoor lap pool and a kitchen. Pelican Preserve is ideally located with a variety of things to do in the Fort Myers area. Pelican Preserve is a 55+ active adult community combining naturally beautiful surroundings with luxury and one of the largest recreational complexes in Southwest Florida.

WCI Communities has begun building two fitness rooms that will triple the town center’s current space. The existing fitness space will get a makeover for additional cardio and strength-training equipment. The new amenities project is slated for completion in early 2016. The casual elegant Destinations restaurant has already been renovated and the card room has been expanded. The Plaza del Sol Town Center is a multi-building complex offering residents indoor swimming, fitness, an arts and crafts studio, and a 99-seat private movie theater. Other amenities include: an outdoor amphitheater, library, computer room, lounge, juice bar, walking track, locker rooms, sauna and steam rooms, Spa Treatment Rooms, tennis Pro Shop, six lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, pickle ball courts, volleyball court, softball field, walking trails, sand beach, fishing pier, nature boardwalk, and more. There is also a 27-hole championship golf course for residents of Pelican Preserve to enjoy plus an array of amenities at the Clubhouse.

Sidewalks, walking trails, and nature preserves at Pelican Preserve are recreational amenities so residents can appreciate the diverse South Florida setting. Prime upscale shopping at Gulf Coast Town Center and Bell Tower Shops are nearby, also providing dining options and various theaters. There are sports and cultural venues close by, as well as white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico and Captiva and Sanibel Islands, boating, the historic downtown area and the Edison Winter Estates. The ongoing expansion project to bring more amenities to Pelican Preserve residents will add an extra 5,000 square feet of amenities.
