Senior Technicians Electrical

Education and Training

-Completion of secondary (12 years) education followed by 2 years formal full time (ITI / Diploma) education to OND level or equivalent.

Primary Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the electrical maintenance activity scheduled, routine and breakdown throughout the oil and gas stations, inclusive of the inspection, overhauling, repairing, testing, commissioning of HT / LT switchgears, motors and motor control center, generators, transformers, batteries and chargers, inverters,

UPS units, heat treatment units, PLC controlled systems, Variable Speed Drive

Principal Accountabilities

-Directs the work of and participates with a crew of technicians in carrying out the routine inspection, trouble shooting and fault diagnosis, testing, overhauling, commissioning of electrical a/c & d/c motor starters, a/c & d/c generators, heat treatment equipment, inverters, UPS units, battery chargers, tripping units, transformer/rectifier units, overhead cranes, mobile generators, lighting units, mobile steam generators, variable speed drive systems, 3kV/ 415V incomers and bus couplers switchgears, all kinds of electric tools, mechanical workshop machine equipment, battery maintenance for gas turbines, inverters and standby diesel generating sets.

-Carries out breakdown repair, inspection and maintenance of variable speed drive systems.

-Carries out breakdown repair and maintenance on high voltage motor starters.

-Receives all incoming work requests for repair, installation or modification works in all types of plant equipment, either through his line engineer or SAP notification. Determines priorities in co-ordination with the Lead Maintenance Engineer and if necessary establishes time estimates, requirement of spare parts, tools and support services.

-Participates in the work of subordinate technicians as necessary to ensure priorities are attended to and urgent work promptly completed.

-Undertakes specialist and complex modification and faultfinding.

-Prepare process and maintenance file for variety of documents relating to all electrical work in assigned area.

-Ensures that the electrical personnel carry out the planned maintenance routines prepared by the Lead Maintenance Engineer in conjunction with

Planning Division. From the published work program, checks that maintenance work has been carried out as planned. Ensures that a record of work completed has been compiled and entered in SAP.

-Maintains technical records for all electrical equipment including the maintenance records and equipment, technical data regarding the specification. Issues work permit and ensures that any instructions regarding excavation are followed so as not to disrupt underground cables.

-Direct and organises workshop activities to ensure that spare parts are stored and used in cost effective manner.

-Ensures that significant maintenance data is entered into SAP, upon completion of works.

Primary Purpose of the Job

Principal Accountabilities

-Carry out effective maintenance of field instruments including routine inspection, Testing, calibration, repair and maintenance, commissioning. Carry out breakdown repair, maintenance and calibration of electronic and pneumatic instruments in site or in workshop. Primary Purpose of the Job

Carries out repair work on turbine control panels and assists in the repair work of small pneumatically controlled instruments and valves. Principal Accountabilities

Senior Technicians (Instrument / Control)

Primary Purpose of the Job

-Monitoring production facilities and provides work direction to General Operators, Field Operators - I, Field Operators - II and Field Operators - III. Participates in operating all production facilities to desired output levels. Assumes responsibility for assigned area in the event of an emergency and in the absence of supervisor. He is directed by the Area Supervisor. Will work on standby duty on a rotational basis. The Senior Operator is expected to work as directed in any of the plant area covered by the Production Department.

These areas are:

1. Khatiyah, FahahH and Jaleha Oil & Degassing Stations.

2. Fahahil Stripping PLant.

3. Secondary Recovery - Powered Water Injection, Wellhead Maintenance.

4. Gas Lift Compressor Station.

The Senior Operator is required to work on shifts depending on the area to which he is assigned.

Principal Accountabilities

-Sanctions Hot and Cold Work Permits including those for gas tests, and oversees engineering work on site. Includes receiving permit from supervisor, checking that required precautions have been taken, signing permit authorization, and carries out gas tests as necessary. Registers details of permits and oversees contractor or other person performing the work. Monitors work in progress, checks that personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn as required, and initials work orders upon satisfactory completion.

-Checks gas gathering units, scrubbers, knock out pots, flow, levels, pressures, temperatures and differential pressure (DP). Checks the computer relay for anti –surge system. Includes checking turbine panels, making required adjustments, checking compressors i.e. seal oil, lube oil, cooling water system and knock out drums, checking abnormal noise or vibration in fin fan unit and surrounding areas, draining DP cells and checking generally for leaks.

-Check the DCS panel, speed tronic panel, UPS systems, auxiliary equipment panel and MCC (Motor Control Centre) Panel boards to determine all equipments and systems are operating as per the operating parameters. Make sure all routine check lists, process and equipment parameter reading sheets are completed and necessary actions are taken. Guide and assist the panel operator on Des panel in emergency, shutdown/start-up situation. At situation of emergency shutdowns, gas clouds (leaks), fire etc. takes a lead role to guide and help the General Operator & Field Operator and take necessary actions. Monitor and maintain a continuous check on various plant parameters for quality of products.

-Monitor and maintain the performance of various equipments like heat-exchangers, natural gas dryers, turbine pumps, demethanizer column, compressors and nitrogen generation units. Adjust control parameters like pressure, temperature, levels and flow meters for steady operation of the plant within specified range from DCS panel; monitor and maintain different wells flow rates, pressure and temperature, any deviation from normal value should bring to the notice of the supervisor. Monitor and maintain a continuous check on various plant parameters for quality of products.

-Tests the cascade and trip system. Includes carrying out checks as necessary to check that fail safe system are working properly, touring separators, turbines, pump stations with operators and Engineering personnel.

-Checks PWI Stations, PWI Clusters, all station source wells and injector wells for flow, pressures, temperatures levels etc. includes checks on the individual pump panels, making required flow adjustments to lube oil, instrument air, chemical injection.

-Starts-up, shuts down, depressurizes, isolates, purges gas from and re-commissions all plant and equipment as directed by supervisor. Includes starting up or shutting down compressors, pumps, turbo-expander regeneration compressor, pump stations, clusters, TVB or dehydration unit under instruction or when facilities trip. Isolates items of equipment by operating valves and depressurizing to zero so that maintenance works can be carried out. Includes gas freeing separators, receiving shutdown list from supervisor, instructing contractor to install spades. Re-commissions plant and equipment by starting up separators, dehydration unit, compressors, TVB's, pumps, PWI Stations and Clusters.

-Carries out various production tests when required. Includes checking that chokes are properly set, adjusting levels, flow rates and injection rates and pressures, replacing orifice plates, taking samples of oil from separators, flow tines or wellheads, reading and interpreting readings and completing test sheets accordingly.

-Monitors and controls the operation and maintenance of the Glycol, Silica Gel and

Molecular Sieve of Dehydration units. Includes coordinating with Supervisor, General

Operator and Field Operators when a malfunction occurs in any facility, deciding action to be taken, catting in maintenance staff as necessary and following through to completion.

-Operates and reports defects in oil I gas wells using the Baker panel, surface control subsurface safety valve, surface safety valve and trip system. Includes operating Baker panel to open or close valves down hole or at the surface, checking the sequence control of the hydraulically operated valves and checking that DA pilots are set for the desired operating conditions.

-Monitors PWI pumping stations and PWI Clustors. Adjust station flow rates as directed by supervisor. Records welt injection data on a routine basis for all the injection wells.

-Carries out chemical dosing of all the source wells injecting biocide. Monitors chemical inhibitor injection into all source wells and injection wells. Ensures adequate supplies of chemical inhibitor and biocide are available at stations and source wells. Checks and changes nitrogen cylinders at source wells and adjusts purge rates as necessary. Checks static and dynamic water levels at all source wells on a weekly basis.

-Ensures that relief valves are chained in the correct operating mode. Includes checking that relief isolation valves are chained and locked in the correct position. Checks are carried out weekly or more frequently if necessary and registered.

Primary Purpose of the Job

Principal Accountabilities

-Advises Lead Maintenance Engineer of the status of all plants and piping in his area of responsibility on a daily basis. Reports problems and action taken and progress status of any project work in the area concerned.

-Arrange for the prompt repair of plant equipment with the assistance of the appropriate support engineer and lor engages the temporary use of transferred personnel or contracted work/staff (this may include initiating & processing contract work orders based on the Scope of Work requirement).

-Participates with Technicians as necessary in more critical work and ensures that it is completed to the required standards.

-Assign work to subordinates with details of scheduling, permits required and any particular technical or special requirement.

-Liaise closely with area Field Production Supervisor in sorting out any problems revealed in the Daily Production log and agrees on the necessary action to improve operational reliability and efficiency.

-Ensures that the planned maintenance routines prepared by the Planning section are carried out. Reviews planning programs and advises / feedback information useful for future consideration to the planning section.

-Comments on plans produced by Assistant Manager (Business Planning) in conjunction with Lead Maintenance Engineer in connection with inspections, modifications, or major repair work during shutdowns, includes commenting on priorities, changes in schedules, the feasibility of proposed sequences etc.

-Recommends/implements plant modifications as requested by Operations Division.

-Assesses with the Lead Maintenance Engineer the need to hire the contractors for major shutdowns, including the preparation of tender documents and Scope of Work. Ensures that major shutdowns are properly coordinated with Production and where contractors are employed they are properly supervised by his staff, co-ordinates commissioning and testing of re-commissioned or modified plant.

-Coordinates the execution of work requests raised from within or outside Production Department as requested by the Lead Maintenance Engineer. Generates SAP work orders to those concerned. Follows up and updates Lead Maintenance Engineer on the progress.

-Ensures that all records, completed work orders, maintenance and shutdown reports are properly filled in and submitted to Lead Maintenance Engineer or entered in the SAP under relevant equipment history where applicable.

-Review facilities in fields annually, in terms of workshop equipment, tooLs, spares and other materials and makes recommendations on additions and replacements as warranted, in accordance with annual routine operating/ cap' non routine budgets.

-Issues hot and cold work permits and applies for excavation permits as required to Maintenance personnel and contracts, includes initiating or compiling, approving and passing to Operations personnel for countersigning. On completion of work, signs off jointly with Operations personnel.

-Approves contractors time and work sheets, includes checking whether the work has been carried out on a daily or lump sum basis according to the terms of the agreement and reports of hours spent and equipment used are true and correct.

-Carries out other similar or related duties such as carrying out standby duties (on call) as Production Duty Officer on a rotational basis.

Includes checking turbine panels, making required adjustments, checking compressors i.e. seal oil, lube oil, cooling water system and knock out drums, checking abnormal noise or vibration in fin fan unit and surrounding areas, draining DP cells and checking generally for leaks.

-Check the DCS panel, speed tronic panel, UPS systems, auxiliary equipment panel and MCC (Motor Control Centre) Panel boards to determine all equipments and systems are operating as per the operating parameters. Make sure all routine check lists, process and equipment parameter reading sheets are completed and necessary actions are taken. Guide and assist the panel operator on Des panel in emergency, shutdown/start-up situation. At situation of emergency shutdowns, gas clouds (leaks), fire etc. takes a lead role to guide and help the General Operator & Field Operator and take necessary actions. Monitor and maintain a continuous check on various plant parameters for quality of products.

-Monitor and maintain the performance of various equipments like heat-exchangers, natural gas dryers, turbine pumps, demethanizer column, compressors and nitrogen generation units. Adjust control parameters like pressure, temperature, levels and flow meters for steady operation of the plant within specified range from DCS panel; monitor and maintain different wells flow rates, pressure and temperature, any deviation from normal value should bring to the notice of the supervisor. Monitor and maintain a continuous check on various plant parameters for quality of products.

-Tests the cascade and trip system. Includes carrying out checks as necessary to check that fail safe system are working properly, touring separators, turbines, pump stations with operators and Engineering personnel.

-Checks PWI Stations, PWI Clusters, all station source wells and injector wells for flow, pressures, temperatures levels etc. includes checks on the individual pump panels, making required flow adjustments to lube oil, instrument air, chemical injection.

-Starts-up, shuts down, depressurizes, isolates, purges gas from and re-commissions all plant and equipment as directed by supervisor. Includes starting up or shutting down compressors, pumps, turbo-expander regeneration compressor, pump stations, clusters, TVB or dehydration unit under instruction or when facilities trip. Isolates items of equipment by operating valves and depressurizing to zero so that maintenance works can be carried out. Includes gas freeing separators, receiving shutdown list from supervisor, instructing contractor to install spades. Re-commissions plant and equipment by starting up separators, dehydration unit, compressors, TVB's, pumps, PWI Stations and Clusters.

-Carries out various production tests when required. Includes checking that chokes are properly set, adjusting levels, flow rates and injection rates and pressures, replacing orifice plates, taking samples of oil from separators, flow tines or wellheads, reading and interpreting readings and completing test sheets accordingly.

-Monitors and controls the operation and maintenance of the Glycol, Silica Gel and

Molecular Sieve of Dehydration units. Includes coordinating with Supervisor, General

Operator and Field Operators when a malfunction occurs in any facility, deciding action to be taken, catting in maintenance staff as necessary and following through to completion.

-Operates and reports defects in oil I gas wells using the Baker panel, surface control subsurface safety valve, surface safety valve and trip system. Includes operating Baker panel to open or close valves down hole or at the surface, checking the sequence control of the hydraulically operated valves and checking that DA pilots are set for the desired operating conditions.

-Monitors PWI pumping stations and PWI Clustors. Adjust station flow rates as directed by supervisor. Records welt injection data on a routine basis for all the injection wells.

-Carries out chemical dosing of all the source wells injecting biocide. Monitors chemical inhibitor injection into all source wells and injection wells. Ensures adequate supplies of chemical inhibitor and biocide are available at stations and source wells. Checks and changes nitrogen cylinders at source wells and adjusts purge rates as necessary. Checks static and dynamic water levels at all source wells on a weekly basis.

-Ensures that relief valves are chained in the correct operating mode. Includes checking that relief isolation valves are chained and locked in the correct position. Checks are carried out weekly or more frequently if necessary and registered.

-Operates or ensures that fire fighting equipment is operated, tested and maintained. Trains plant operating personnel in the use of such equipment. Makes a weekly inspection of all fire/safety equipment and submits a report.

-Carries out other similar or related duties such as preparing time sheets; ensuring good housekeeping; and checking oil, water, tyres, battery etc. on assigned vehicle.

-Responds, as shown in the Emergency Action Plan as the forward or local control point.

-Responds to Emergency Action Plan as part of the Standby Duty Crew.

-Must be aware of the financial consequences of erroneous operation, in terms of loss of revenue or damage to equipment.

-Ensures that subordinates conduct their duties in a safe and efficient manner.

-Help and assist the 'Qatari Trainees' for their development in "On-the Job" training program.

-To act as Field Production Supervisor whenever required.

-Give instruction to the daily labourer for maintaining cleanliness of the plant.

-To follow/ implement Quality Management System & Procedures and make suggestions for continuous improvement.
