I assure you I’ve had this particular image earmarked since last week, the fact that there just happened to be a “Lamborghini Exclusive” Seasonal Event this past Wednesday was a pure coincidence. A coincidence that almost swayed me from using this, but aren’t you glad that I decided to use it anyway?
We’re coming up on the Rewind’s first year anniversary and I haven’t the foggiest idea how I’m going to handle that, which is why I’m turning to all of you: if you have any ideas for the upcoming celebration don’t be shy, drop me a private message or post whatever idea you have in the comments below. Remember, next month is poised to be full of gaming related news every which way, so it will be better to have ideas on hand now and not at the last minute.
We’re quickly approaching the beginning of everything new in November and of course, Thanksgiving. I’ve been looking forward to that particular holiday since June! Of course there’s a lot more going on in November as well: the launch of nVidia’s GeForce GTX 780 Ti, the launch of the PS4 and XB1, games galore, the aforementioned Thanksgiving, and then Black Friday. I feel like I’ve left something out but with so much already going on, that short list of things to come will have to suffice for now.
For the past three weeks things have been particularly quiet in the GT camp so you’ll be pleased to know that has changed with an incredible announcement that some, if not all of you here would have read by now and in the event you haven’t read the particular announcement of which I’m referring, you’ll just have to wait just a little bit longer.
The storm is officially on the weather forecast and is slowing building momentum and before long we’re all going to be overwhelmed, such an outcome is inevitable. Is anyone else reminded of the movie “Storm of the Century”?

Ayrton Senna is Coming to Gran Turismo 6
Announced just hours ago at the Brazil Game Show in São Paulo a special collaboration between the Ayrton Senna Institute and Gran Turismo 6 which will see “a variety of content” related to Senna coming to the game via DLC. There’s more to this fantastic announcement which you can read about right here.
As many of you will know I’m practically an F1 diehard, I express practically due to the length of time I’ve been watching religiously, which is a little over 5 years. I’ve watched the occasional race here and there beforehand, but I never indulged in the necessary initiative to really learn the sport, the rules and regulations, the dangers, or the drivers. Drivers such as Damon Hill, Ayrton Senna, and Alain Prost are just a select few drivers who raced in a period where my eyes weren’t on F1 programming.
Senna’s ability when driving an F1 race car was a significant talent within a talent; the kind of thing that comes along once in a proverbial “blue moon”. I may not have been fortunate enough to experience his incredible talent before his passing, but with all of the footage I’ve seen his most impressive talent, in my eyes, was his ability or should I say inability to treat a dry and wet track surface as if they were different.
Take a look at this video narrated by former F1 driver Sam Posey where he gives his own personal insight into what made Ayrton Senna so quick. Note: this video was put together around the time the 2010 film “Senna” was premiering.
This is fantastic news for the GT series and is something I’ll be excited to see. As we all should know, while this will be the first official use of not only his likeness but the cars he drove, it won’t be the first time we’ve seen Senna’s cars in a GT game, as that honor firmly rests with Gran Turismo 3.
GTPlanet Weekly Race Series (WRS) Week 140: Super-Cali-Fuji-Listic
Mary Poppins! I’ve a feeling both that joke and this week’s title will mostly fall on deaf ears. Any takers? Moving on, this week is all a group of SuperGT Nissan GT-R invading territory they’re not exactly welcomed in, and with the 518 horsepower powering it’s lightweight aerodynamic shell it’ll be plenty easy to escape those who should oppose the idea of fun.
Fuji Speedway may be owned by Toyota Motor Corporation, but we’re spearheading a virtual Nissan invasion this week. The Calsonic has been used in several arcade mode events, but never with tuning which can bring these GT-Rs to life. Tune out the “stock” under steer and you are in for a real treat this week! All four models drive close to identical so pick your favorite team/livery and hit the track.
If you use one of the models requiring ballast be sure to check the ballast is on and at position 0 if you switch tuning sheets. Any submissions without the required weight will be DQ’d.
There are areas of the track clean by WRS boundary rules that will get red flagged by the game. As always any system flagged red laps cannot be saved as ghost replays and are considered dirty for this event.
All 4 cars (already broken in) are on share from both GTP_3D3Racing and GTP_3D3_C. If you’re not on either friends list, send an FR to GTP_3D3_C, as the main account is close to the limit.
Stop by the official thread here and remember that you NEED to be registered before officially participating in the WRS, and that can only be done by submitting a time for the official GTP Registry Qualifier.
Forza Motorsport 5 – The Roundup Continues
It’s almost zero hour for the Xbox One and it’s AAA launch title Forza Motorsport 5 which means news should begin to pour at a steady rate, which is fantastic news for all of us as we’ll no longer have to wander about in a seamless mystery wondering what’s going to happen next.
Things may have already taken a turn for the better as we’re finally given a look at Spa Francorchamps while behind the wheel of Ferrari’s F12berlinetta, and if you pay close enough attention you’ll spot the KTM X-Bow R – another open-wheeled racing notch in FM5′s belt. This just happened to slip by me last week, and by “this” I’m not referring specifically to the R18 E-tron pictured above, what I’m referring to is the track it’s on – the Top Gear test track. Last week a handful of pictures went up showcasing the special section of the Dunsfield Aerodome in Surrey, England and they’re breathtaking to say the least.
Beyond that continues the weekly reveals for vehicles set to be included in FM5, and the total list up until this point is 110 confirmed vehicles. Today sees the next batch of vehicles set to be included in Forza Motorsport 5′s lucrative list of automotive history, and the list is as follows:

Photomode Tournament Season 06, Advanced 2.0 - Yet another celebration of the fifth Gran Turismo chapter coming to an end. The qualifying round has just begun, so if you love taking photos and want to engage in this tournament, giving a proper sendoff before GT6 arrives in December, you’d better get a move on as the qualifier closes on the 30th of this month.
