It’s a little funny to me that this week’s Rewind is being presented – the opening act, if you will – by an already prominent staple of the article itself; however, the community here is the central focus of the Rewind, and anything that makes the lives of the many easier will be showcased here.

With that tantalizing riddle out in the open you’re definitely wondering where all of this is going, and I’ll be happy to tell you: this past week, a new feature made its way to GTPlanet, and that feature will make the lives of every collective tuner looking to showcase their diligence, or every aficionado looking to find tunes for their favorites vehicles that much easier, welcome to the Gran Turismo 6 Tuning Database.

As you would come to expect by now, the Rewind will eventually evolve alongside this feature and will provide even easier access to tunes (I honestly haven’t the slightest clue how that’s going to work just yet!), but until that times comes – and I expect it to be fairly soon – you can stop by the official announcement thread and get all of the details you’ll ever require.

GTPlanet Picture of the Week

This week’s featured image, recommended to us by Oink83 and courtesy of Sjaak, features the Toyota Supra clad in Super GT dress tacking Grand Valley East.

Have a suggestion for next week’s featured image? Drop me a private message, entitle it “GTPlanet Picture of the Week”, and fill it out with your two choices and they’ll be featured in upcoming Rewinds. NOTE: You cannot elect your own work.

Bus Selecta – Design Your Own Aircooled VW or Pre-1973 Porsche

We’ve seen flash games like this before, where you customize vehicles to your hearts content, but this one is a little different as it focuses entirely on Volkswagens and pre-1970′s Porsches. It may be a little older in comparison to what’s been featured here before, but it’s still worth a look as there’s more to this than you might think.

There’s a handful of variety between the four selections available – whether it be different body styles or entirely different models, you’ll never tire (hah!) of customizing Camper Vans, Type 3′s, Beetle’s, or the wealth of Porsches available.

So, what are you waiting for? Stop by the website and get a move on!

Gran Turismo 7: Prologue On The Way?

It would appear that GT7:Prologue has been unofficially hinted at by a user “known to work for” Sony Computer Entertainment in a discussion on the gaming forum NeoGAF about the upcoming Driveclub for the PlayStation 4.

plainr_: “I swear Mr. Yamauchi, developing this game better not take half a decade.”

DemonNite: “Are we talking about GT7 or the prologue here ;)”

GTPlanet Quiz of the Week

The fourth week is upon us, and the question is and forever will be, how much do you know?

1. This monster is infamously known for lifting its nose up at the competition given enough straight line advantage.

2. Gran Turismo 2 is one of only two PlayStation titles to feature a “scratch ‘n’ sniff” disc, what smell was recreated when scratched?

3. This team is known for possessing the only 100% success rate in the 65-year history of Formula One.

Clues will be provided if necessary. The official thread is up and running but hasn’t been outfitted with the full breakdown of things just yet, so until that happens be sure to drop me a private message, entitle it “GTPlanet Quiz of the Week”, answering in the comments section does not count, and share your answers.

GTPlanet Member of the Week

The prized status and stardom that only the Member of the Week can bring has once again arrived and thus, it is once again time to acknowledge a member of the GTPlanet community; a member who has stood out among the hundreds of thousands of members already here, both old and new alike for all that they’re worth and all they have contributed to the community.

A Junior member is once again among the ranks, and this particular member is known for being a S.N.A.I.L., so let’s give a very warm welcome to the newest member to find a vacant apartment in the ever-expanding MotW madhouse, kcheeb!

The interview has yet to go live so keep an eye peeled for the announcement once the time comes, and until then be sure to stop by the official Member of the Week and perhaps catch up on previous interviews that you may have missed.

Anyone you’d like to see recognized as the Member of the Week? Drop me a private message, entitle it “GTPlanet Member of the Week”, and fill it out with your choices and they’ll be featured in upcoming Rewinds. NOTE: You cannot nominate yourself.

GTPlanet Vehicle of the Week

This week’s featured vehicle is one straight from the Gran Turismo history books, and is one that should instill a fair bit of nostalgia among many of you. Without further ado, recommended to us by Tokyoracer247, is the 1994 Venturi Atlantique 400GT.

Have a suggestion for next week’s featured vehicle? Drop me a private message, entitle it “GTPlanet Vehicle of the Week” and fill it out with your two choices and they’ll be featured in upcoming Rewinds. NOTE: You cannot elect your own work.

GTPlanet Tune of the Week

I’m almost inclined to believe this week’s featured tune was chosen on purpose, as this week’s tune, recommended to us by tuning aficionado danbojte and courtesy of NEWDRIVER2, features the 1996 Lotus Elise, codenamed “Knight Rider”.

Victory is the name of the game as usual and if it’s a deserving victory that you’re after and you want to do so as a man who does not exist, then you’ll want to stop by and see the tune for yourself - and remember, Clueless, over The Hill Outlaws have been featured in this space on three consecutive occasions in the past, so we all know they’re capable of providing some of the best tunes available.

Exactly like the Picture and Vehicle of the Week features, if you have any suggestions for the upcoming Rewinds be sure to drop me a private message, entitle it “GTPlanet Tune of the Week” and let me know. NOTE: You cannot elect your own work.

GTPlanet Photomode Competitions

We’ve reset the counter for the sixth chapter in the Gran Turismo series and the photomode competition is back and better than ever.

In Week 15 of the Standard and Advanced competitions for GT6 you are to put your best foot forth and show the community just how seriously you take your in-game photography. All you need to know is as follows:

Week 015, Standard: Aggressive – “Take a picture of any car posed on any track, and let it show it’s teeth! – The car must be standing completely still or the highest camera speed setting can be used to achieve this.”

Week 015, Advanced 2.0: Goodwood – “Simple really – Goodwood seems to have a nice lighting model and I’ve seen some great photos taken there. Now I would love to see some more so take any car you like and photograph it at Goodwood – can be a static or motion shot – anything goes really.”

For all of the relevant information pertaining to this week’s challenges be sure to stop by here and here.

Closing Thoughts

That’s all for this week, until next week where I’ll call on one of you, the GTPlanet Faithful, to assist me in conquering the world, keep racing!
