LifeLine Screening: Good Shepherd is pleased to offer a preventive health event. Life Line Screening, a leading provider of community-based preventive health screenings, will host their affordable, non-invasive and painless health screenings on Thursday, August 11th. Five screenings will be offered that scan for potential health problems related to: blocked arteries which is a leading cause of stroke; abdominal aortic aneurysms which can lead to a ruptured aorta; hardening of the arteries in the legs which is a strong predictor of heart disease; atrial fibrillation or irregular heart beat which is closely tied to stroke risk; and a bone density screening, for men and women, used to assess the risk of osteoporosis. New School Year Celebration: Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 11. We will have one worship service on that Sunday starting at 10 am. It is a celebration of the new school year as we will recognize our Preschool staff, Sunday School volunteers, and all others who work in education. We will also take the opportunity to remember the significance of this date.

Beach Bash Picnic: We will continue the celebration of the beginning of the school year with an end of summer “Beach Bash” church picnic which will begin following the worship service on Sunday, September 11. We are planning some fun things. Bubbles, Water Games, Pony Rides, and Karaoke are all part of the planning. Community Service Day! As part of our vision to GO out as missionaries into the world, Good Shepherd will be hosting a special day of community service on Saturday, October 8. We are in the initial planning stages of this event. Our vision for this day is to provide opportunities to serve for individuals and families. We want everyone to be able to participate. If you have a community project you would like to help coordinate, sign up on your connection card or contact Pastor Phil at *protected email*. Projects can be anything from visiting a nursing home, to Habitat for Humanity, to Project Linus blankets. We hope you can help to make this an incredible experience for everyone involved.

Freed Up Financial: Back by popular demand!! You are invited to join us, began on Sunday, July 10 at 9:15 am in the Resource Room, for Freed Up Financial Living. It is a 6-week course on the Biblical principles of managing our finances. This is your road to financial freedom. We recently offered this course during the Spring and there was an overwhelming response to how this course had made a positive difference in the lives of many. In this course you will learn to:

PICKLEBALL is going strong!!! It is an easy activity similar to badminton and ping pong. We began on Tuesday, June 21st at 6:30 pm with 8 eager women in the Fellowship hall. If you are interested, please let *protected email* know. Please be sure to wear something comfortable and sneakers.

Church On-Line Directory: The church on-line directory should be finished over the Summer. We still need some photo’s so if you have not submitted a photo, please do so asap so we can add it to the directory. Join our “Green Team”! and help keep our lawns mowed, our gardens growing and our parking lot/islands neat and tidy! No experience necessary but you must at least a freshman in high school. Riding and push mowers used, as well as gas weed whackers. Please contact Maureen Puricelli at *protected email*. **High School Students–Time volunteered would qualify as National Honor Society Service Hours or other school service hours you might need.

Lily Shirts are IN! If you ordered a Lily tee shirt, you can pick up your shirt at the kitchen counter on Sunday’s. There are extra shirts for anyone who did not order but wants to buy a shirt.
