The Christian Post reports…

“Motivational speaker and evangelist Nick Vujicic urged members of the congress in Paraguay to kneel for prayer during a parliament session in which he thanked God for the nation while asking God to forgive their sins.

Vujicic was in the South American country last week as part of his month-long speaking tour where he shared his life’s story and how his faith has led him to live a life without limits despite not having any limbs.

During Vujicic’s visit, the Paraguayan congress invited him to speak during one of their routine sessions where a few legislators were taken by surprise when he asked them to join in a moment of prayer.

“I want to encourage you to kneel before the Lord right now and let’s pray,” Vujicic said, as shown in a video. “Lord, we thank you for the future of this country, we commit Paraguay into your hands, forgive our sins and heal our land.”

He continued, “Lord, we pray for miracles, that you lead this government, bless the president and everyone that makes the laws. We uplift the media, we uplift the education system, the national security and thank you Lord for every business and we ask God that we would be pure and help us be the people you want us to be.”

Paraguay-based news outlet, Color ABC, reported that while some congressmen embraced the moment of prayer, others complained that such a practice should not be allowed in a government institution since Paraguay is considered to be a relatively secular country.

During his two-day stay in Paraguay, Vujicic also led conferences aimed to inspire the country’s youths, garnering thousands of participants and over 21,000 committing their lives to Christ.

“Never have I seen such a positive response throughout a country. The Lord is truly here in Asuncion!” wrote Vujicic on his Facebook page, referring to his second night in Paraguay’s capital city where 12,000 made a decision of faith.

Part of his testimony was to let young adults know that there is hope in God despite feeling helpless and suicidal like he did at one point.

“When I was a child, I had no faith. Yeah, I prayed to God and I went to church but I started to have bitterness towards God because I didn’t understand why I was born this way,” said Vujicic.

In addition, his visit also included a discussion with the Paraguayan press about his stance on abortion while adding that Paraguay should defend orphans and disabled children.

“A nation that honors God, will always be honored by God,” said Vujicic, according to Color ABC. ”I’ve seen nations that have dishonored God, God has been taken out of schools, the government, the military, and when you take Him out of a nation, how can you expect God to protect this nation? All lives have value, no matter what disability you have.”

Vujicic was born with Tetra-amelia syndrome, and has written inspirational books that have been translated into 28 different languages including, Life Without Limits: Inspiration for a Ridiculously Good Life and Unstoppable: The Incredible Power of Faith in Action and Limitless: Devotions for a Ridiculously Good Life.

Currently, he is on tour in South America, where he will visit 8 countries and 18 cities to speak at about 60 conferences, where a total of about 700,000 people are expected to attend before November 2, 2013.”
