Physician Background:

Pamella Abghari, M.D., allergist-immunologist, received her M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, MI. She obtained her residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Allergy/Immunology from Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Abghari is board certified in Pediatrics. Clinical interests include: allergic rhinitis, asthma, food allergy, atopic dermatitis and primary immunodeficiency. Research interests include: primary immunodeficiency and allergic disorders.

Prashant Agarwal, M.D., neonatologist-perinatologist, received his MBBS from BJ Medical College, Gujarat University, India. He completed his residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine from Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He is board certified in Pediatrics.

Rajkumar Agarwal, M.D, neurologist, received his M.D. from University of Mumbai, India. He completed his residency in Pediatrics from University of Mumbai, India, and the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Agarwal completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology (Epilepsy track) at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH. He is board certified in Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology. His clinical and research interests include: pediatric epilepsy, surgical management of intractable epilepsy, pharmacogenomics of epilepsy, continuous spike-wave in slow-wave sleep (CSWS), Landau-Kleffner syndrome, neurogenetic conditions, neonatal neurology;, pediatric stroke and cerebrovascular disorders.

Harbir Arora, M.D., hospitalist, received his MBBS from Sri Siddhartha Medical College, India. He obtained his residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Infectious Disease from Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He is board certified in Pediatrics.

Kristen Cares, M.D., gastroenterologist received her M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition from Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Cares is board certified in Pediatrics.

Saurabh S. Chiwane, M.D., critical care physician, received his MBBS and residency in Pediatrics from Government Medical College, Nagpur University, Nagpur, MH, India. He also received a residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Critical Care from Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He is board certified in Pediatrics.

Kelly M. Collins, M.D., surgical director, Liver Transplant Program, received her M.D. from Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She obtained her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, from University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky and residency in General Surgery from Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She completed her fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Abdominal Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery from Washington University, St Louis, Missouri. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Stephanie Do, D.O., emergency medicine physician, received her D.O from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics from Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron and fellowship in Emergency Medicine from Children’s Hospital of Michigan. She is board certified in Pediatrics.

Faesal Elbakoush, M.D., hospital medicine physician, received his MBChB from University of Tripoli School of Medicine, Tripoli, Libya. He obtained his residency in Pediatrics from Woodhull Medical & Mental Health Center, N.Y.

Maha Elhassan, M.D., endocrinologist, received her MBBS from University of Khartoum Medical school, Khartoum, Sudan. She obtained her residency in Pediatrics from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine and fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology from University of Michigan, CS Mott Children’s Hospital. Dr. Elhassan is board certified in Pediatrics. Her clinical and research interests include: pediatric endocrinology, growth hormone therapy in children, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis in children, glycemic control and dynamics in families with multiple diabetic members, pediatric endocrinology in a limited resource setting.

Melissa February, M.D., neonatologist-perinatologist, received her M.D. from St. Georges University, Grenada, West Indies. She completed her residency in Pediatrics from University of Texas Medical Branch Children’s Hospital, Galveston, Texas. Dr. February obtained a fellowship in Neonatology/Perinatology from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. She is board certified in Pediatrics.

Marjorie Gayanilo, M.D., cardiologist, received her M.D. from Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her residency in Pediatrics from Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Gayanilo completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, FL. She is board certified in Pediatrics. Her clinical interests include: transthoracic, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiography. Research interests include echocardiography and fetal echocardiography.

Marjorie Golekoh, M.D., endocrinologist, received her M.D. from University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Manila, Philippines. She completed her residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Her clinical and research interests include: abnormalities of growth and adrenal gland and long term endocrine outcomes of cancer survivors. Dr. Golekoh is board certified in Pediatrics.

Nathan Gonik, M.D., otolaryngologist, received his M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, MI. He completed his residency in Otorhinolaryngology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. He obtained a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology from University of Michigan, CS Mott Children’s Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI.

Harut Haroyan, M.D., radiologist, received his M.D. from Yerevan State Medical University. He completed his residency in Radiology from Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center Affiliated Hospitals. He obtained a fellowship in Neuroradiology from University of Chicago and a fellowship in Pediatric Radiology from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr Haroyan is board certified in Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology.

Angela Kavenaugh, D.O., emergency room physician, received her D.O. from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She obtained her residency in Pediatrics from Broward Health Medical Center, Fort Lauderdale FL.

Deema Mahadin, M.D., cardiologist, received her MBBS from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Manhattan, NY. Dr. Mahadin is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. Her clinical and research interests include: general pediatric cardiology, imaging in congenital heart disease, fetal echocardiography and echocardiography.

Terence Metz, M.D., radiologist, received his M.D. from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology from Beaumont Hospital. He obtained his fellowship in Pediatric Radiology from University of Michigan.

Sarah Prinzi, M.D., hospitalist, received her M.D. from University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She obtained her residency in Pediatrics from Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

Michael D. Rizzari, M.D., transplant surgeon, received his M.D. from New York Medical College, Valhalla, N.Y. He obtained his residency in General Surgery from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas, TX. He completed a post doctoral research fellowship in Transplantation from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Minneapolis, MN and a fellowship in Multi-Organ Transplant Surgery from University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Hania Salama, M.D., emergency medicine physician, received her M.D from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Family Medicine from Wayne Statue University and residency in Pediatrics from Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

Swati Sehgal, M.D., cardiologist, received her MBBS from Government Medical College, South Gujarat University. She completed her residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology from the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Sehgal also completed a fellowship in Heart Failure and Transplant from McGraw Medical Center of Northwestern University. She is board certified in Pediatrics, and Pediatric Cardiology. Her clinical and research interests include: preventive cardiology, advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathy, heart transplant and kawasaki disease.

Bianca Siegel, M.D., otolaryngologist, received her M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She obtained her residency in Otolaryngology from Einstein-Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. Dr. Siegel completed her fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, Pittsburgh, PA. Clinical and research interests include: pediatric airway and digestive disorders, airway reconstruction,endoscopic airway surgery, recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, laryngeal cleft, hearing loss, cochlear implantation, pediatric neck masses, pediatric thyroid and sinus disease, techniques and outcomes in pediatric airway surgery, resident education, simulation and quality improvement. She is board certified in Otolaryngology.

Chenni Sriram, M.D., cardiologist, received his MBBS from University of Delhi College of Medical Sciences. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Sriram completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology from the Mayo Clinic and a fellowship in Electrophysiology from Penn State University, Hershey Medical Center. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. Clinical and research interests include: pediatric cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, congenital heart disease, radiofrequency ablation of arrhythmias, cardiac pacemaker, implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD), and biventricular (cardiac resynchronization) pacemaker and ICD, antiarrhythmic drug therapy, cardiac channelopathies (long QT syndrome, CPVT, brugada syndrome),  mitral valve prolapse and sudden cardiac death and the use of intracardiac echocardiography during cardiac electrophysiological procedures.

Prasad John Thottam, D.O., otolaryngologist, received his D.O. from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served as chief resident of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, at the Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Thottam completed a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. His clinical and research interests include: pediatric otolaryngology, pediatric airway and digestive diseases, airway reconstruction (laryngotracheal reconstruction), laryngeal cleft, sleep apnea, pediatric neck masses and lymphatic malformations, hearing loss and ear disease, sinus disease and down syndrome.

Michelle White, M.D., hospital medicine physician, received her M.D. from Duke University School of Medicine. She obtained her residency in Pediatrics from University of Washington, Seattle, WA. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor MI. She is board certified in Pediatrics.
