Social Worker required for work within the Adoption Team in the South West area. £26 - £30 ph
Social Worker is required to work within a Children & Families Team based in the South West Region in Devon. The appointed Social Worker will be part of the Adoption Team. Experience of working with foster carers as professional colleagues and working in a multi – disciplinary arena are essential.
Social Worker will be under the line management and general supervision of the Team Manager to manage a caseload providing services to all those involved in fostering and adoption. This includes the recruitment, assessment and training and supervision of foster carers and adopters, private foster carers, counselling adopted adults and finding placements for children and young people. Individual Long-term caseload varying between 20 - 25 depending on urgency/ complexity.
Arranging suitable placements for children and young people both in planned and in emergency situations for fostering and adoption.
To ensure managers are informed of any circumstances of a serious nature, i.e. regarding children in extreme risk, where there is a degree of public interest, or situations where staff / carers or services users are at risk.
Monitor and maintain foster carer, case and service user records, general administration, maintenance of systems according to relevant legislations and Directorate procedures and policies.
Staff appraisals, training, research and assist in the promotion of specialist skills
Supervision and work planning in accordance with Team Managers direction.
Requirements:
12 months post qualifying experience within the relative team.
GSCC
Current enhanced CRB (within last 12mths)
Recognised social work qualification
Ideally a driver with access to own car
Able to reside and work in the UK
