Tree Officer required
Working in the Berkshire area

My client is seeking a professional Tree Officer to carry out duties in the Berkshire area.

Qualifications Required:
Arboriculture equivalent or higher
Lantra Advanced Tree Inspection Certification

The successful candidate is required to:

Lead, organise and carry out the surveying of trees.

Plotting all trees on to a GIS system recording tree types, size & approximate age & condition

Recommending any works required to the trees & building up a tree maintenance programme for future years.

Use in-house and external staff, to deliver measurably upper quartile standards of quality and efficiency, and in accordance with the principles of best practice and value for money.

Key Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for the planning, organising, delivery and quality control of the Tree Service

Working with the Team Leader to develop a tree programme of works using the data within the GIS system from the completed tree survey in accordance with best practice in the sector, providing accurate and timely reports on progress

Survey and oversee all tree surgery works ensuring the safety of all members of staff and public at all times.

Take responsibility and ownership of health and safety issues ensuring arrangements are resourced, ensuring risk assessments are carried out and employee and representatives are engaged in decisions affecting their health and safety.

Ensure that the Tree service comply with all relevant legislation and guidance as a landlord, employer and property manager.

Develop relationships with residents and tenants by actively supporting the Landscape Forum.

Other Responsibilities:
Ensure that the principle of confidentiality is applied, where appropriate, to all aspects of the company’s work

Maintain good links with other professionals through relevant forums

Ensure compliance with good Risk Management Practice.

The successful candidate ideally will be physically fit as the job is demanding. You must also be able to work well within a team with the ability to communicate clearly in an appropriate and diplomatic manner with a range of customers and members of staff.

A clean UK Driving License is also required as driving a works van is an essential requirement.

This is a temp to perm position with a basic salary of £25,000.
