I'm looking for 15 support workers to join a new service working with young people with autism
Your new company
You will be working for one of the UK's best providers of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities. You will be working as a part of a brand new team in a specialist residential home for young people with autism, learning disabilities and other needs. The home aims to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in it's care. Promoting complex independence and community integration is fundamental to their approach while maintaining a promise of personalised learning for residents through experience and therapeutic services. Empowering individuals to progress towards a life with increased independence and improved community integration is key the this service' ethos.
Your new role
Your role involves caring and supporting our residents in all aspects of their lives to enable them to develop their skills and enhance their ability to access the community. By carrying out these responsibilities well, you will be helping to provide the best possible quality of care for those who live at the home. You will also be helping to create a pleasant working environment for other people who work here. Full induction training is given. You will also learn from some of the most dedicated and inspirational people in our profession and just like our residents you will be learning all the time through our on-going mentoring and support. Your shift pattern will be as follows. Week 1 – 4 Days on, 3 Days off. Week 2 – 3 Days on, 4 Days off. Working Hours are 7.45am to 8.15pm (*There will be a possible requirement to work Night Shifts in times of need for which overtime will be paid - Night time working hours are 7.45pm to 8.15am)
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated and well organised. Patience and commitment are essential, but above all you’ll be someone with a genuine desire to help others with a passion for providing support to vulnerable people. Prior experience working in care or with autism, learning disabilities is desirable but not essential. NVQ level 2 or 3 in health and social care is desirable but not essential. Candidates will need to meet the person specification to be offered the post. A new DBS will be processed for every candidate.
