Following a successful last few years the Sheffield office is looking forward to the next phase of it's growth. A niche business in itself with a strong reputation within in the student accommodation market, they very much see themselves as an independent specialist within their market place. They work with dynamic private developers on high profiles and complex construction projects across the UK. Having been awarded a new business contract, a permanent Employers Agent/Quantity Surveyor/Project Manager is needed in the Sheffield office.
Your new role
Reporting into an Associate Director, you will be working on high profile, complicated sites and deals ranging in value from £5million to £50million. You will be responsible for ensuring that your clients brief and expectations of the build are met. You will take accountability for project delivery ensuring frequent contact with all parties, close inspection of the project and accurate reporting to your stakeholders. You will carry out contract administration of JCT design and build contracts, full commercial management of the project including, producing estimates, cost plans and post contract QS services.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have worked in a similar role delivering private sector projects within a consultancy environment, doing pre and post contract work, taking projects from conception, through planning and to delivery. You will ideally hold an MRICS qualification or other relevant construction qualification but this is not essential.You will have a thorough knowledge of of the development process, commercial awareness and a genuine interest in building projects. You will need strong communication skills and experience of administering JCT and NEC contracts and be comfortable prioritising your workload, working with multiple clients on multiple projects at anyone time.
