The University Academy Keighley is an improving, multi-cultural, 11-18 Academy situated in very close proximity to the Yorkshire Dales National Park and within easy reach of Leeds, Bradford, Halifax and surrounding areas. Students’ achievement both academic and social are the focus of all at the Academy. The Academy building is exceptional, only a few years old and well resourced. We are soon to be part of the Wakefield City Academies Trust who deliver powerful school-to-school support and professional development in the areas key to raising achievement across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

We are seeking to appoint a Lead Teacher of Science who will play a key role in raising teaching and learning standards. We are looking for someone who has the ability and willingness to set and maintain high standards and who is enthusiastic and has a collaborative approach. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom teacher and will have experience of leading teaching and learning. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible so ideally after February half term or Easter at the latest (sooner if possible!)

The successful candidate will have:

• Good Honours Degree
• Qualified teacher status
• Good knowledge of the National Curriculum
• Evidence of collaborative and effective working with teams of staff
• Evidence of continuing professional development
