Seeking an engaging Learning Practitioner to deliver a mixed curriculum to KS3 - KS4 EBD group

Hays Education are currently working with a West Worcestershire School that supports individuals with Special Educational Needs. This Special School is well resourced and provides support to pupils across KS3 – KS4 with moderate and or specific learning difficulties.

Your new role
This Teaching job will see you teaching Science to small class sizes of secondary aged students and is expected to initially last up to December 2016, with the possibility of continuing for the rest of the academic year. This job requires planning marking and assessments. Consequently you should be engaging passionate individual with the ability to engage disaffected individuals with special educational needs. Key aspects of this job include working the learning support staff and ensuring students make progress. This is a full time role.

What you'll need to succeed
To be suitable for this role you should be an experienced Teacher with QTS have a minimum of 6 months experience of working with children or young people with emotional behavioural and social difficulties (EBSD/ BESD/ EBD) and/ or Autism. You must have a minimum of 40 days experience of working in schools, centres or provisions that support EBSD/ BESD/ EBD which can be referenced. Applicants with QTS or Science oriented degree will have a significant advantage. You will be passionate about helping young people achieve the best of their potential, be thick skinned and have a good sense of humour A team teach qualification or training in crisis prevention (PROACT SKIP/ MAPA/ TEACHH) is advantageous.
