Salary: £15,000 – £18,000 per annum. (TTO)

We are looking to recruit two full time permanent SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a special needs department in an 'Outstanding' rated by Ofsted School. If you have experience of working on a 1:1 basis, or with small groups. Degrees in Humanities or English is essential, you should be able to support a range of Humanities subjects. The school is based in Southwark and is a short walk from the over ground station and major buses routes.

This secondary school is average sized school with a 6th form currently there is 1100 pupils on roll, with an over subsided year 7 intake for 2014. Student have made excellent progress, in 2013, 90% of students achieved five or more grade A* to C GCSE qualifications, with 70% of students achieving five or more A* to C grades including English and mathematics. Achievement in the sixth form is currently good overall. Students learn well in lessons and have made good progress so far.

The SENCO is keen to appoint enthusiastic and intelligent graduates or someone looking to move into LSA career and you will be keen to develop your career working within a secondary school. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience prior to applying for either Humanities or English PGCE or Schools Direct.

The role requires you to work within the Humanities/English department as a Learning Support Assistant across both key stage 3 and 4. The hours are 32hrs/39 weeks; you would need to be flexible around exam time to support key stage 4 pupils.

You must be committed for the role other SEN statements you will work with include Autism, EBD and Cerebral Palsy. Prior experience is essential for the role, this may include any voluntary placements, paid Teaching Assistant/LSA experience, tutoring or teaching overseas.
