Required September 2014.
This post is suitable for both experienced and newly qualified staff
Would you like to be part of an Academy which is writing history? Are you able to take advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity to dramatically change the lives of our young people and indeed help transform the communities in which they live? If so, please read on.
We are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Sport, Health and Leisure who will contribute to raising attainment in the faculty and across the Academy.
This vacancy has arisen due to the Academy’s expansion of Year 7 into Year 8 and an expanding Sixth Form. We believe that this is a unique opportunity and a ‘plum’ job. In joining us as a Sport specialist you will be joining a Team of eight full time colleagues specialising in Sport, Health and Leisure. You will be given considerable scope for the development of Sport across the Academy and will be well-placed for promotion, either at All Saints or elsewhere, within a short period of time.
We are looking for a creative, hard-working and ambitious colleague to add to our Team. As the successful candidate you will really enjoy the company of young people, be fully committed to improving student outputs at all levels and will see the constant and inexorable focus on raising attainment in Sport, Health and Leisure as a positive and essential aspect of our work as a new Academy.
• As a creative colleague you will seek new answers to existing situations. You will use existing knowledge and practice to help develop and shape new practice. In short, you will use your advantage as a new colleague to bring fresh ideas to Academy improvement.
• We want you to know that your hard work will pay dividends, both for yourself, the Sport, Health and Leisure Team and indeed the students we serve. Your hard work will be manifest in an insatiable appetite to contribute in no small measure to the work of the Team and to improving student outputs.
• You are ambitious because you wish to use your time at All Saints Academy as the springboard for success – success for you, the Sport, Health and Leisure Team, the Academy and for the students in your care. You believe that ambition, creativity and hard work all combine to enhance your promotion prospects.
All Saints is a calm and happy school; we like to laugh with each other and to laugh at ourselves. We try not to take ourselves too seriously but know that preparing young people for the adult world is an important undertaking. Since opening, attitudes, aspirations and expectations have been transformed. We believe that our circumstances are quite unique and, therefore, that we can make a massive difference to the students we serve.
In return for your hard work and dedication we will expect you to be ambitious for yourself and for the students in your care, and we will not stand in your way when suitable opportunities for career progression come your way.
All Saints Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the DBS.
Closing date: 12.00pm 20 March 2014. Interviews will be held W/C 24 March 2014
