The post presents a leadership opportunity for an outstanding Languages Teacher who loves teaching and can harness and develop the aspirations of our students in languages. For us attitude, ideas, potential, teaching and people skills are important.

You will be part of the Communications Learning Village but also part of the cross Academy Teaching& Learning Coaching Group which is responsible for embedding good practice across the Academy. As the Lead Teacher MFL you will work with the Director of Learning Communications and the new team to reinvigorate language teaching at the Academy and to improve student outcomes, trying new ideas. Our students currently study French as their main language, with German as a second language. However, we would be flexible about introducing other languages. You will also be able to be part of the wide range of enrichment activities in Communications and across the Academy.

Bedford Academy opened in September 2010 taking students aged 13 to 18, in September 2014 we become a secondary school admitting years 7 and 8. We moved to our brand new, state of the art building in November 2012. The Academy provides exciting, new and different opportunities for learning; transforming the aspirations and educational outcomes of our students and the local community. We are significantly improving achievement. In July 2013 Ofsted found Bedford Academy to be a ‘good school with outstanding leadership’.
