We are working exclusively with Eastfield Primary School to recruit for an experienced individual to fulfil the role of Behaviour and Welfare Officer on a full-time basis from Easter 2017. Eastfield Primary is a rapidly expanding school for children aged between 5-11 years old, which is situated close to Wolverhampton City Centre in the East Park Ward. Our core values at Eastfield Primary are: Pride, Opportunity, Care, Diversity, Respect and Resilience. As a Behaviour and Welfare Officer you will be working with staff, pupils and families.

On a daily basis, you will be supporting pupils within the school with many disadvantages including;

Looked after children

Children in the social care system including Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) and Early Help Assessments (EHA)

Children with Challenging Behaviour, emotional, medical and Special Needs

As a minimum, you are required to hold GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or equivalent as well as holding at least a Level 3 qualification in education, childcare, social work, social care, counselling or youth work and ideally, you will hold a Paediatric First Aid qualification.

To effectively fulfil this role, you will need experience of working with children within schools, especially those with behaviour issues, ideally have experience of using behaviour trackers and have liaised with parents and families as and when required. It is essential that you have experience of working with multi-agencies with the ability to produce information for, and attend, multi-disciplinary meetings involving EHAs, CIN, CP and LAC.

Knowledge of SEN and EHCPs is essential as well as the issues affecting families and parenting needs of children. A large part of this role will involve the ability to score, record, evaluate and feedback outcome measures so experience of doing similar is required. One of the main focuses within this role will be to work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups both within and outside of the classroom environment. You will also be required to monitor the progress of pupils, during and after intervention to measure the impact of the intervention strategy.
