A Specialist 1:1 Teaching Assistant is required to support a Primary School pupil with ADHD in Swindon.

Your new school
A mainstream Primary School in Swindon is recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant. You will be working within Key Stage 2 to support a pupil with ADHD and behavioural difficulties.

Your new job
In this challenging, but extremely rewarding role, you will support a named pupil with ADHD and other challenging behaviours to ensure the pupil can thrive in a classroom environment.

The successful candidate will be working with SEN pupils on a long term basis offering additional support in the classroom. You will be confident in planning and preparation to work alongside the classroom teacher and to use your skills and experience as a teaching assistant. You will work alongside the Key Stage 1 department to support the teacher.

What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful for primary teaching assistant opportunities in Wiltshire, you must have recent and relevant experience as a primary teaching assistant either in a voluntary or paid capacity. You must also have a passion for working with primary aged pupils and be dedicated to making a positive impact on their learning and development. You will have a Level 3 or higher qualification or alternatively extensive SEN experience supporting children in the Primary phase who have emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) or exercise other complex and challenging behaviours. The challenges you will face day to day mean you must be a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a key passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and the desire to have a positive impact on building good relationships with staff and students. You will need to have good time keeping and preparation skills in order to be a fantastic asset to the school. As per Department for Education (DfE) guidelines you will need to be able to provide full identification copies and reference details from the relevant experience you have previously gained in this or a similar setting.
