TEACHING ASSISTANT JOB IN BRISTOL
We are looking for a NVQ qualified Teaching Assistant to work across KS2 offering their extensive experience of learning support in this large primary school in Bristol.
This job at a primary school which has recently been graded as 'Good with Outstanding features', is at the heart of the community and is very popular as a 3 form entry school. The staff are very well supported by a strong SLT team at the school.
This primary teaching assistant job in Bristol is an on-going vacancy until July. It will be working with individual students and groups and you will have a working knowledge of the SEN code of practice. Though you will work under the direction of the class teacher you will be introducing tasks, monitoring pupil’s work and using a range of strategies to support their learning.
You need to be confident in your knowledge supporting English and maths. In addition, the successful candidate will have relevant referenceable experience in working in primary schools. Candidates must be patient and empathetic towards pupils and have a real interest in working with SEN pupils. Excellent written and spoken communication skills are essential.
Experience of learning support with children with BESD in mainstream schools and working with external agencies is desirable, though not essential.
