Hays Education are currently recruiting for an early years teaching job on an exclusive basis for a children centre based in Aston, Birmingham. The centre is looking for an early years teacher to help provide giudance to the existing members of staff. The Ideal candidate will have recent experience within early years and have sound curriculum knowledge.

JOB PURPOSE

To support the provision of high quality care and education for children throughout the centre

To ensure staff planning meets the required standards of the Early Years Foundation Stage

To advise and assist with the implementation and drafting of curriculum policies

To monitor the delivery and measure the impact and effect of the learning experience for children

To support the Centre in achieving standards of excellence

STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES

To develop the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum in consultation with the staff team.

To lead staff in the planning of appropriate learning activities which offer high quality learning experiences to children from birth to five years.

To lead on developing and evaluating curriculum policies to ensure that good practice is documented, disseminated and consistently sustained.

To advise on the planning, provision and delivery of an inclusive curriculum that will meet the educational and development needs of all the children attending the setting, including those with Special Educational Needs.

To further develop a team approach to planning, observation, assessment, record keeping and monitoring provision.

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

To support the development of partnership with parents / families to ensure that the best practice of involving parents/carers in the education of their children is implemented

To advise upon and help room leaders and staff to create attractive and stimulating environments which allow children to explore and develop as independent learners both inside the centre and in outdoor areas

To assist managers with the monitoring cycle and support staff in joint observation and development of good practice

To assist in the delivery of a programme of in‐service training for staff

To support designated staff with provision for SEN and EAL children by consulting with the expertise of outside agencies in drawing up plans for individual children

To work with the staff team to ensure that the centre is appropriately resourced to meet the needs and interests of all children

To work with students, modern apprentices or volunteers on placement at the centre and to encourage their participation in planning and developing activities with the children.

To work with all managers, to ensure that the Centre meets all required Ofsted standards to ensure a good or outstanding outcome.
