Chromebooks has been around for some time and by now we have well known the limitations of Chrome OS but if you are looking for a basic laptop for word, spreadsheets, emails that uses everything Google, you might be interested to consider this new Acer C720 Chromebook that comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of SSD storage, it even has a USB 3.0 and HDMI port perfect if you need that expansion storage option. If you have no idea what SSD or Solid State Drive means, it is a faster version of the traditional hard disks, in fact a lot faster. Everything should load almost instantly with SSD storage and it has become the de-facto storage for Macbooks nowadays.

Why are recommending this? Because we notice there are sellers selling older models on online marketplaces in Singapore, and for almost the same price you can get a better improved version of the Acer Chromebook. For only US$239.99 selling on Amazon.com, shipping to Singapore is free of charge and the total should work out to be a little over S$300, just remember to select to pay in USD and let your credit card do the currency conversion for better rates.

Unfortunately only the 32GB SSD storage model is available to ship to Singapore, Amazon.com doesn’t ship the 16GB version for some reason. That extra storage will come handy if you have a lot of photos. Here’s a quick video review of the Acer C720 Chromebook from theverge.com that will help with your decision.
