This video was just released documenting the recent mural installation from Graphic Surgery in London. The project was curated by Cedar Lewisohn and part of the larger Canals Project. An excellent video that captures the artists in action as well as discussion about their work.

The Canals Project: Street Art on the Waterways A series of new, curated art commissions for east London’s canal system, commissioned by The Legacy List and supported by The Canal & River Trust and Bloomberg LLP.
Description: A series of new, curated art commissions for east London’s canal system including an international residency opportunity.
Commissioned by The Legacy List, as one of the first projects to benefit from a new corporate partnership with Bloomberg LLP, and as part of a new creative partnership with the Canal & River Trust, the first stage of the project will see a number of new works installed in selected locations along the Lee Navigation and Hertford Union canals.
The brief for the artworks will reflect the location and history of the canals in a variety of innovative ways and the artists will be selected from a carefully curated mix of well known and rising stars from the international street art scene. The project will also offer an amazing opportunity for at least one locally based artist to undertake an international residency to encourage and foster the links for local street artists with the global street art community.
Working closely with local artists and communities, particularly those from the street art community, the project will stage a series of workshops, events and discussions to encourage local participation and involvement. The local community of artists and practitioners from east London and Hackney will also be invited to propose ideas for events related to the project on an open submission basis.
Through mixing work with international and local artists, the projects aim to create dialogues and opportunities which will continue long after the project has formally finished. The canals of east London are an ideal location for presenting cutting edge street art. There is already a strong tradition of works appearing in these various locations along the canal. Many of these works are loved by the various communities who use the canals and the new commissions will aim to compliment and add to the uncommissioned works while giving artists the opportunity to produce ambitious pieces that would not be possible without permission.
