Event Background
Double 11 (11.11, read as ‘Double-Eleven’) Shopping Carnival, or Singles’ Day, is the annual biggest event organized by Tmall.com, a B2C online shopping platform under Alibaba group.
Previously known as Singles’ Day, the first Double 11 Shopping Carnival was taken place on 11 November 2009 (11/11/09). In 2009, the number of sellers who took part in this shopping carnival was limited. However, the outcome was out of expectation.
Since then, more and more sellers and e-commerce operators have joined this shopping carnival in the subsequent Singles’ Day, giving away intensive discount and promotion.
In 2014, one-day sales up to RMB 57.1 billion has been registered. On 11/11/2015, the one-day turnover has reached record RMB 91.2 billion.
Hence, Double 11 has emerged into the largest online shopping carnival among the globe.
Event Description
Envisioned to bringing Malaysian shoppers the world-largest online shopping season, SGshop plans a series of promotions during the period of Singles’ Day 2016. The series of promotions shall take place from 1 November 2016 to 11 November 2016. The promotions include publicity, game, discount and rebate. 'Warm up your cart' Pre-order Period
To prevent network congestion during 11 November 2016 while still able to enjoy discount up to 90%, our users can place order during the Pre-order Period, which is from 1 November 2016 to 10 November 2016. Our users can take part in the following activities:
PRE-ORDER
o Pre-order is entitled 50% discount in service charge for international shipping.
o The user need to click [Pre-order button] while checking out the shopping cart during Pre-order Period, in order to enjoy the discount during this period.
o If the order is normal order instead of #SGshop1111 Pre-order, the order shall not be entitled any discount.
o Purchasing department will place order during 11 November 2016. The price difference will be credited back to customers’ SGshop balance.
o Orders under “Ship-for-me” will not be entitled the discount
SPECIAL REBATE
o Each order valued over RM300.00 shall be given SGreward RM11.00 as rebate.
o Order under “Ship-for-me” is excluded.
SCRATCH TO WIN
o When each order placed is worth over RM100, the user shall have chance to play [Scratch to win]. The total prize is worth up to RM10,000, which include SGreward and mysterious prize.
o Only orders under “SmartShop” and “Buy-for-me” are entitled to [Scratch to win]. “Ship-for-me” is excluded.
o Prize content includes [RM10 SGreward], [RM5 SGreward], [RM2 SGreward], mysterious prize and [Thanks for your participation].
GRAB ANG POW
o At 11:11AM and 11:11PM everyday within Pre-order period, Ang Pow is available to be grabbed by the customer
o There are a total of 11,000 ang pows available
o Each customer shall have 1 attempt to grab ang pow at one time

Alibaba’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival
In response to Alibaba’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival, on top of sellers’ discount up to 90%, SGshop also offers intensive discount on Single’s Day:
Customers who place order on 11 November 2016, Single’s Day, shall enjoy free service fee and 11% international shipping discount.
Only customers who pay for 1st payment (product price + China domestic delivery) on 11 November 2016 are entitled this discount
Orders under “SmartShop”, “Buy-for-me” and “Ship-for-me” are entitled this discount
International shipping discount is applied on “economy air”, “special air” and “sea shipment”. “Express air” will not be entitled this discount.
