Let's just go ahead and say what's on our minds... bright colors... and... white polish for fall? I certainly wasn't expecting that! But since the fall collections are starting to pop up in mid July, I suppose it's great that I want to wear all of these polishes right this second ;)
Let's take a closer look at three of the polishes in the Colour Clash collection: Cotton Buds, Silly Billy, and Wellies.
Cotton Buds
Cotton Buds is a white-white cream polish, and the white manicure is so hot right now. You may know from experience that white nail polish has the reputation for being streaky, unforgiving, and needing 3+ coats to be opaque, so my expectations for Cotton Buds weren't exactly the highest. To make sure I was off to a good start, I used butter LONDON's Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat (reviewed here). After the first coat, I was a little concerned because I saw some weird patchy spots where I tried to fix some imperfections in my application. As I was only making things worse, I decided to stop trying to fix the first coat and hope that the second coat would cover up the bald patches - some of which I made myself - and it worked! The second coat applied great and covered up the patches leaving me with an opaque and solid white manicure. Thankfully, this polish is unforgiving at first but is opaque enough to to cover up it's own flaws.

Do I think this is the white nail polish to end all white nail polishes? No - I'm still waiting for a perfect one coat white! But having a white polish that is opaque in just two coats is certainly something to smile about :) I'm a fan!
Update! The second time I wore Cotton Buds, I used nailgirls Super Base as my base coat. Cotton Buds applied even better and while I still wore (2) coats, the experience was overall more positive and I now adore Cotton Buds even more :)
Silly Billy
A clown popular at fairs in Britain, and a fab nickname for anyone named William.
Silly Billy is a Nickelodeon orange (Big Orange Couch, anyone?) so bright it's almost neon. The formula is similar to Wellies and is sheer and thin, however it isn't really a true jelly. I'm wearing (3) coats.
Wellies
A very popular rain boot, seen often in Britain.
Wellies is a chartreuse yellow/green cream. The formula is on the thin side and a bit sheer. Wellies is kind of a weird color - you're either going to love it or leave it. Me? I love it! Of the two other chartreuse polishes I own (OCC Wasabi and Color Club Tweet Me), Wellies is slightly more yellow. To my eye without having them on hand to compare, Wellies looks like a cross between OPI Fiercely Fiona (which is more yellow) and Who The Shrek Are You (which is more muddy). What do you think, are you into this shade? I'm wearing (3) coats.
There are three more polishes in the Colour Clash collection: Pimms (opaque, sunflower yellow crème), Cake Hole (bright pink cream), and Giddy Kipper (opaque, indigo shimmer).
Oh, and look at what's happening now on the sides of the butter LONDON bottles! The old bottles used to have a clear plastic sticker keeping the lid sealed. The new bottles still come sealed - btw why don't all companies seal the bottles - but now the "Lift To Open" thinger IS the seal. So, you could either peel off the "Lift To Open" thinger, or, do the stupid and totally not safe thing I did and slit it with scissors and almost slice your hand open because the sticker is way too cute to peel off.
Just be safe and peel the cute sticker off, please?
I'm a little disappointed there aren't any amazing glitters or shimmers and am not sure what's going on with brights for fall, but I do like these colors! Are any of the Colour Clash polishes calling out to you?
