I fell in love with Christine Ha on MasterChef during her time on Season 3, in which she won, and now she is back on MasterChef 2013 Season 4 and this time she will be helping with a Mystery Box Challenge in which the remaining home cooks will cook while being blindfolded! Now we get a taste of how she does it! I think this is an awesome idea and am so excited to have Christine Ha on Master Chef Season 4! Watch with us during our MasterChef 2013 Season 4 Recap and see who was eliminated on MasterChef 2013 Season 4 tonight with us!

The 13 remaining home cooks make their way into the MasterChef Kitchen and time for the next Mystery Box Challenge: it contains….a pig’s head! The heads have already been broken down hidden underneath, so they can use any part of the pig’s head and have 90 minutes to create a meal that will have Chef Ramsay, Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich squealing with excitement!

Who has really ever cooked a pig head before? Bri is a vegetarian, so she might be struggling with this one! Chef Ramsay is loving the flavor profiles in Jonny’s dish and is impressed! The time runs out and I am very interested to see what the home cooks come up with this one!

The judges take one last look at the dishes from the home cooks and the first dish they want to taste is from Lynn, who made Braised Tongue & Cheek. Chef Ramsay said it looks beautiful and the whole thing melts in your mouth. Joe said it is a great example of fusion and wondering if it is a $24 appetizer or $36 entree and that is a great thing.

The next dish comes from Jessie, who made Braised Cheek & Ear. Graham said it explodes with flavor and that is a contender. Joe said every piece has the right amount of seasoning. Chef Ramsay said it is seasoned beautifully and well done.

The last dish comes from Jonny, who made Tongue & Cheek Tacos. Joe said this dish is just really good and he is on top of his game. Graham said that is awesome and he wants to keep eating it. Chef Ramsay said it may look simple, but it delivers a punch and he showed his strengths and his best dish so far.

The MasterChef 2013 judges discuss the three different dishes and the winner of the Mystery Box Challenge on MasterChef Season 4 is Lynn! He heads to the pantry with the judges to find out his advantage for the Elimination Test. The theme will be revealed by Season 3 winner Christine Ha! Lynn will choose from Christine’s three favorite ingredients: chicken, catfish or dungeness crab. For winning, Lynn will be safe. He gets to give one person one of the ingredients and the rest of the home cooks will be cooking one of the other ingredients. He chooses catfish for Krissi and the rest will cook dungeness crab!

The home cooks run to the pantry to find out what they are cooking on Master Chef 2013. Krissi thinks Lynn gave her the catfish because Bime was his boy and she sent him packing, but maybe it is because she is a big talker and everyone wants her gone? Now a new twist: the home cooks will all be cooking blindfolded to see what Christine deals with on a daily basis! How can they cut this crab that is alive while blindfolded???

Well, it was a big joke, as the blindfolds are removed and now they can do it will full sight. Beth is not using a lot of the crab meat, which Joe questions but she said she wants something fresh. Krissi is making fried catfish, mashed potatoes and asparagus and Joe thinks itis not up to a high quality that he would expect in the Top 13! It does not look good for her! The time runs out on MasterChef 2013 Season 4 and time to taste the dishes.

Krissi: Chef Ramsay said the skin is like snakeskin and asked if she was cooking for the judges. Christine said it tastes too earthy. Joe said her catfish tastes like mud and if she thinks she knows it all then go cook it all at home and at this point she is wasting his time and to him she is done. She then goes back and does some whispering and Joe called her out on it! I used to like Krissi too, but not now!

Natasha: Joe said the ginger makes it pop and this dish is really, really good.

Bri: Graham said this dish should be hard to mess up and it is almost spring moving into summer and he likes it a lot.

James: Christine said she liked the heat that comes on at the end and very good. Chef Ramsay said it is phenomenal and great job.

Beth: Joe spits it out and said it is completely raw! Christine said it is not her cup of tea. Joe said it is disgusting and it ruins his palette. Graham said it is more of a crab pancake than a crab cake.

Luca: he makes Crab Risotto, but he screwed it up and it looks like soup! Christine said the initial taste is too salty. Chef Ramsay said that is not risotto. Joe said it is a disaster and kind of embarrassing. He put fish sauce in the risotto because it is one of Christine’s favorite ingredients, but he never should have!

The judges discuss and the best two dishes come from Natasha and James, who is the winner tonight on MasterChef 2013 Season 4 and they will be team captains at the next challenge.

The three worst dishes tonight come from Beth, Luca and Krissi. They said they are losing patience with Luca, but there were two worse dishes and he is safe. Beth gave a plate of blandness and it wasn’t the Beth they have been used to. Chef Ramsay said she is taking this competition for granted and her cooking doesn’t back up her attitude. Of course, Krissi is safe and Beth has been eliminated on MasterChef 2013 Season 4 tonight!

Do you agree with the judges’ choice tonight?
