Kik Messenger, the talk network with 275 million new users, has exposed to third-party coders by releasing Bot Shop, a program for builders to make and establish chat bots, the business said in a reports release Wednesday.



The Waterloo, Ont.-centered Kik Interactive, making kik hacker Messenger, released the unveiling of Bot Shop with sixteen bots, including ones from humour site Crazy or Pass away, H&M, Sephora, Vine and THE ELEMENTS Channel.

Bots over apps

Kik CEO and founder Ted Livingston has been pushing bots as the future of rather than apps, even going as far as to spell it out a possible future situation in which a Kik end user at a Blue Jays game could scan a code by way of a chat app, order refreshments and food of their seating and pay online by bot, of downloading another instead, separate software specific to a stadium or wearing arena.

"There is no new software to download, no new consideration to set-up, and, most importantly perhaps, no new interface to learn. You merely scan and chat," Livingston composed.

Research by Catalyst Canada, a search engine marketing agency, showed that folks are installing fewer smartphone apps, and relying on a smaller number of core software more often instead.
