This latest optical illusion to divide people across social media might just be the strangest yet!
A picture of a pair of legs has gone viral on Twitter after originally being posted on Instagram several weeks ago. Twitter user @msbreeezyyy shared the image on Twitter with the caption “Once you see it you can’t unsee it.”
The post has since gained 5,000 retweets by confused users. Are these legs shiny, like plastic?

Or are they just covered in white paint?
Upon first glance, many people thought that the legs were shiny and plastic-looking, while others were able to distinguish the effect as actually being white paint.
And after a closer look, it is clear that the shiny effect is being caused by streaks of white paint. But it is odd that our eyes can be so quick to deceive us.
The Instagram user who originally posted the image, @leonardhoespams, confirmed that it was actually paint on her legs.

Comments from Twitter users ranged from “[Shiny legs] that’s it? lol I saw that I thought I was missing it,” to “wow I struggled way too much to notice it hahahahhahaha.”
This is merely the latest in a long run of optical illusions on the web. Earlier this week, some puzzles had internet users scratching their heads…
