Seventeen to be Honored at First New York Chapter Gold & Silver Circle Ceremony

New York, NY, November 23, 2016 – In conjunction with our 60th Anniversary, the Board of Governors of The National Academy

of Television Arts & Sciences, New York has chosen to induct seventeen individuals into the prestigious Gold & Silver Circles. The

Gold & Silver Circles are comprised of an elite group of professionals who have made significant contributions to the New York

television market. The Silver Circle recognizes individuals who have devoted a quarter of a century or more to the television industry.

The Gold Circle recognizes those whose contribution spans fifty years or more.

The Gold & Silver Circles are societies of honor. Their members represent the passion, creativity and dedication that are the hallmarks

of excellence in this industry. We congratulate them on their successes, and for the lasting mark they have made on the broadcasting

community. The honorees represent those media professionals working in either a performing, creative, technical, administrative, or

journalistic role within the industry, or in an area directly related to television such as management, writing, or production. 2016 will

mark our inaugural Gold Circle event.

Since 1992, the New York Chapter has honored distinguished television broadcasters including Walter Cronkite, Bob Keeshan, Linda

Ellerbee, Sheila Nevins, Jerry Orbach, Rafael Pineda, Dan Rather, John Roland, Chuck Scarborough, and Marvin Scott. This year,

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, New York will induct the following accomplished professionals:

Gold Circle Inductees:

Norm Fein (News 12), Richard Leibner & Carole Cooper (Bienstock, A United Talent Agency Company), Agnes Nixon (ABC

Daytime), Alvin Perlmutter (The Independent Production Fund), Gabe Pressman (WNBC-TV), Al Primo (ABC/Eyewitness News).

Silver Circle Inductees:

Pat Battle (WNBC-TV), Steve Grymes, Mary Murphy (WPIX-TV), Kevin O’Connell (WGRZ-TV), Jorge Ramos (WNJU Telemundo

47), Jackie Robinson (WSTM-TV), Rosanna Scotto (WNYW FOX 5), Sal Tagliarino, Diana Williams (WABC-TV), Scotti Williston

(CUNY-TV).

“This year’s illustrious honorees have distinguished themselves in their positions, amongst their peers, and in our community,” said

Denise Rover, President of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, New York Chapter. “Each has made a significant

contribution to our industry. I am also pleased that two colleagues from the Buffalo and Syracuse markets are included. We salute

these 17 exceptional people who have made an impact in New York media.”

The ceremony will be held at Porter House Restaurant at the Time Warner Center on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Honorees, family,
