Theme for 2014

Right to Peace

The theme of the 2014 UN International Day of Peace.

 

This year we have joined with The International Day of Peace (IDP) and the United Nations. Please visit:www.internationaldayofpeace.org for more information about The International Day of Peace. On the 21st of September (every year) the world celebrates the International Day of Peace.

 

Who has the right to peace?

What would the world look like if everyone lived in peace?

How does the United Nations help to build a peaceful world?

What will you do to make sure all people have a “Right to Peace?

 

Think about these questions and create artwork which symbolizes what a “Right to Peace,” means to you.  Your artwork MUST include the message, “May Peace Prevail On Earth” in English and/or your Native Language. All art must be done by children, including the writing of May Peace Prevail On Earth.

Rules are simple.  May Peace Prevail On Earth must be written/drawn in English and/or your native language on your artwork and following the theme “Right to Peace”for 2014.

Please read the rules before creating your artwork.  All artwork must be done by the child entering.

Every child and school will receive a certificate of participation by registering online – Certificates can be downloaded once you complete your artwork and register.

Winners and Finalists will receive certificates and great prizes.

Remember… The deadline to receive your original artwork is June 30, 2014.  Register NOW!

In the vast universe, we were born on this planet called Earth, where various cultures and ethnicities, all living things, and all of nature exist together. However, in our world today, we face numerous problems–environmental destruction, resource depletion, wars and conflicts, poverty, and many more–that make our future uncertain. Given this situation, what do you think is the best way forward for humanity? How do you wish to fulfill your role as a citizen of Earth?
