An organized workspace frees me to tackle home projects like a true weekend warrior. #SpringKeeping

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of the Gladiator Corporation. All opinions are mine, and mine alone.

I don’t know about you, but over the winter months, I tend to let my garage turn into an unruly mess. Not too long ago, my 12-year-old son poked his head into the garage, took do one look around, and said, “Uh, Dad … when are you going to clean up this mess?” You know it’s bad when your pre-teen son is calling you out for being messy. And he was right. Over the winter months, I had let quite a mess accumulate in the garage. I had tools scattered all over the floor (in a sort of proximity to my toolbox), a big pile of wood from an entertainment center I’d busted up (and was going to re-use for another project), and the remains of a canvas gazebo cover that was too ripped up to use again. (I’m not sure why I kept that last item. Apparently I was channeling my grandmother, who grew up in the Depression and literally kept everything. You could barely walk through her house.) Although I cleaned up the mess in the garage and the space is now halfway presentable, I have still been lacking a good space for my tools. That’s why I’m glad I had the opportunity to try out the highly rated Gladiator Premier Series Modular GearBox. This is a great storage solution for my tools and other items I use regularly.

And check out Gladiator GarageWorks on Facebook! #SpringKeeping  There are several variations of the GearBox. (You can check them out at the Gladiator website.) The specific one I received is the modular version. It’s basically a huge metal box with one drawer. But in essence, it’s three shelves because you can store items on top. The most brilliant feature of the GearBox line of products is that they are modular. You can arrange and stack them in various configurations to suit your needs. After unboxing my new GearBox, I filled it with some of the most important items in my garage. Having used it for a bit, here are the three features I like best:

1. The GearBox rolls.

I was going to say, “The GearBox is portable,” but that’s not quite true. It’s not exactly something you’re going to throw in a backpack and carry with you. But it’s definitely mobile. The wheels are super heavy-duty and allow you to easily move the GearBox around to wherever you need in your garage (or other space where you’re using it). This is a super handy feature because it always seems like I’m walking back and forth in my garage to retrieve tools. Now I can just roll the GearBox wherever I need in the garage. Heck, I could take it for a spin on the sidewalk if I wanted. It’s probably sturdier than my bike.

2. The GearBox holds a lot of stuff.

You’ll see in the pics that my Gearbox is the model with one drawer. (By the way, the drawer fully extends out and can hold up to 65 lbs.) I haven’t even come close to filling it to capacity. There are a lot of great toolboxes available these days, but you can only carry around so much stuff at once. I love the GearBox because it’s like a massive toolbox that not only fits my actual tools, but all sorts of power tools, nails and screws, and other assorted “guy stuff.”

3. The GearBox is sturdy.

When I say it’s sturdy, I mean REALLY sturdy. It’s made of steel and is not going to collapse on you anytime soon, if ever. This model can hold up to 1,400 lbs. per cabinet. Now THAT’S what I call sturdy. (And by the way, the doors are magnetic … it’s little touches like this that make the Gladiator Premier Series Modular GearBox a real winner in my book.) This is not a cheap product, but my philosophy with tools has always been “you get what you pay for.” And there is no use paying for great tools and then not having a proper place to put them. As I’m sure all proud owners of a GearBox can attest to, it’s a small price to pay for such a sturdy, well-made product. Do yourself a favor and check out the full line of GearBox products as the Gladiator website.
