2013 Domaine des Aires Hautes Minervois La Liviniere – $12.97
Reviewed by Vintage Wine Taster Ray
Having spent a week in the Minervois area of France in 2013, I discovered the Domaine Aires Haut was made in that same area. It was the harvest when we were there so on a lark, I bought the wine for old time’s sake and was pleasantly surprised. The Domaine Aires Hautes is 50% Syrah, 30% Carignan, and 20% Grenache clocking in at 14.5% in alcoholic content. This is a very nice, subtle wine with a boysenberry nose, a pleasant palate and just a trace of tannin in the aftertaste. It could easily be a wine of choice even for those who are not into red wines. I’d rate it at 90 pts. I purchased the wine at Costco.
