Mortgage Rate Watch: The average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage rose this week to 4.29% this week, up from 4.22%, according to Freddie Mac.
Meanwhile, building permits climbed in October to the highest level in more than five years, signaling the U.S. residential real-estate market will strengthen in 2014. Other data showed property values last quarter increased by the most in more than seven years.–David Lott, Founder/Publisher
