> Summer May Be Over, but 2014 vacationers are already booking their rentals for next summer. That’s one way to dampen the sting of leaving Martha’s Vineyard with vacation done and the winter ahead.
Often a rental agent will contact the renter before they even leave the island, asking if they want to reserve their rental for the next year. This is especially true for families who come to the same home year after year. They regard the home as “their’s” and would be crushed to lose it the following season.
So if you are a first-time renter, now is the time to start looking for next summer. The best weeks are usually gone by January when the Steamship Authority starts to take auto reservations for the summer. That’s when renters rush to consolidate their vacation plans–there’s nothing worse than having a rental and being unable to get on-island when your vacation starts.
