SUMMARY OF POSITION
Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks a Senior Counsel for the Corporate Legal department. The position is responsible for drafting and negotiating vendor service agreements, software agreements and other technology development and license agreements to support Warner Bros. in areas of production, post production, physical and digital distribution, and content workflow, management and preservation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide general legal counsel and advice on business/legal affairs issues.
Draft, negotiate vendor and administer service agreements.
Draft, negotiate and administer software and technology license/development agreements.
Draft, negotiate consulting services agreements, amendments, statements of work, software design and development agreements.
Supervise implementation and administration of contracts for worldwide dubbing and subtitling.
Provide back-up to domain name registration/renewal process.
Supervise the preparation of non-disclosure agreements, usage agreements and technology evaluation agreements.
Coordinate legal matters with other internal divisions and/or outside counsel.
Review talent restriction memos and coordinate with business groups.
Assist General Counsel and Senior Counsel with analysis of business, regulatory technology and copyright issues.
Assist General Counsel and Senior Counsel with corporate or legal research as necessary.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
BA or BS and JD degrees required.
California State Bar or license to practice in California.
Minimum 7 years experience in law, especially in contracts required.
Knowledge of business and legal environment of the entertainment and technology industries, sufficient to prepare legal documents, represent the Company in legal proceedings, and advise Company management.
Must be able to draft and/or understand business contract language and software/technology licenses, development and implementation agreements.
Must be able to prepare, negotiate, and interpret agreements and other legal documents.
Must be able to make business/legal decisions.
Must be able to communicate succinctly in writing and draft correspondence relating to business and legal matters.
Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel.
