Legal and Commercial Services professionals deliver and coordinate legal, contract and commercial advice and counsel in support of Accenture's or our clients' business, working to manage and mitigate risk and ensure ethical behavior and compliance with laws and company policies.

Job Description

Legal Services professionals support Accenture's business, minimize risk and assure compliance with laws and company policies; provide specialized and deep areas of expertise; and coordinate all legal advice and counsel related to commercial arrangements and offerings, third-party alliances, complex outsourcing deals and transactions, intellectual property, public company responsibilities, board of directors support, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and regulatory support, and employment law.

Accenture Security counsel focuses on supporting Accenture Security’s go-to-market/sales organization help sell our clients security services and technologies.Accenture Security counsel is responsible for: i) determining the conditions under which such security offerings are lawfully sellable and deliverable, ii) reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex client transactions in a corporate environment; and iii) producing recommendations, guidelines, template materials and training necessary to enable the Legal Sales and Delivery Team with appropriate legal knowledge and tools to support the Accenture Security offerings.

A professional at this position level within Accenture has the following responsibilities: Identifies, assesses and solves complex business problems for area of responsibility, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Closely follows the strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near term goals. Interacts with senior management at a client and/or within Accenture on matters where they may need to gain acceptance on an alternate approach. Has some latitude in decision-making. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Decisions have a major day to day impact on area of responsibility. Manages large - medium sized work efforts within Accenture.

Basic Qualifications

Juris Doctorate from accredited law school required

Licensed and active member of a Bar

Minimum of 6 years post-qualifying transactional experience in a law firm or in a fast-paced corporate legal/transaction or military group

Minimum of 3 years leading legal support in drafting and negotiating security services agreements, software license agreements, consulting service agreements, outsourcing agreements, teaming and alliance agreements, subcontractor agreements, and non-disclosure agreements

Preferred Qualifications:

Deep skills in contracting, drafting and negotiations.

Hands on technology experience, including industry awareness/experience with security standards such as ISO 27001 or HIPAA Security Rule, security accreditations such as CISSSP, completion of relevant training such as through SANS, or familiarity with COPPA, CAN-SPAM, ECPA, government requests for information, and compliance with FTC requirements;

Experience in complex technology and/or outsourcing transactions within a large corporation, consulting firm, government agency or law firm in IT areas;

Experience with third party software components embedded into a company’s software product;

Understanding of open source issues and potential impact in Accenture’s business and experience in embedded systems;

Proven ability to manage diverse deals to drive successful outcomes to often complex licensing transactions while maintaining Accenture policy and best practices;

Demonstrated business/commercial acumen;

Strong negotiation skills, solid legal presence and the ability to influence significant decisions;

Resilient under high pressure; able to balance between moving a deal forward and maintaining objectivity about the soundness of the deal and compliance with Accenture principles and standards;

Firm grasp of Accenture approach to balancing risk/reward;

Understanding of or willingness to learn regulatory landscape and its effect on product development & deployment;

Ability to meet travel requirements
