Summary
Provides assistance in legal function in diverse areas including HR outsourcing, regulatory compliance, contracts, workers’ compensation and employment claims, litigation, Affordable Care Act/ERISA compliance and legal research.
Essential Duties
Assists SWBC PEO staff in the performance of their duties providing professional employer services in four principal areas: HR outsourcing, employee health and related benefits administration, workers’ compensation and loss control services, and payroll services in Texas and multiple states
Conducts legal research and advises SWBC PEO officers on all matters relating to the company’s business.
Prepares instruments and contracts necessary for entity formation, PEO sales and vendor relationships.
Assists in preparing documents required by various regulatory agencies, both state and federal relating to the business of SWBC PEO.
Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Must have a Doctorate of Jurisprudence.
At least 2 years of private practice, compliance, or in-house experience.
Experience in labor law and health insurance laws/regulation preferred.
Must be familiar with employment, workers’ compensation insurance, health insurance, corporate, and tax laws affecting licensed PEOs and their clients and shared employees.
Must be able to provide written and oral legal opinions on a variety of complex legal issues with minimum supervision.
Must possess excellent presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
