Provides pragmatic legal advice, counsel and support to corporate and local Human Resources and corporate and local management of all functions. Frequently collaborates with risk management, treasury, tax and security departments. Knowledgeable of the entire spectrum of legal issues concerning domestic employment, in particular in providing pragmatic advice and counsel on –

employee relations, staffing, recruitment, labor relations, performance management, employee benefits, compensation, training and affirmative action plans and programs;

minimizing the risk of and managing litigation, administrative proceedings, governmental investigations and inquiries, internal investigations, employee complaints; and

HR policy development and review, planning personnel activities (including reductions in force) and preparation and enforcement of agreements.

MAJOR DUTIES

This role supports the SVP, Human Resources, Employment & Administration by providing the full range of legal representation and advice on employment and labor laws for Revlon’s U.S. operations and in particular the following –

• Provides general legal services for the Company in the employment and traditional labor law areas, and as specifically requested by the SVP, Human Resources, Employment & Administration.

• Responsible at all times to know and understand the Company's business strategy and provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal counsel and services in support of that strategy.

• Responsible at all times to maintain linkage with business clients, to understand their needs and to provide pragmatic, proactive, creative solutions to legal issues relating to the implementation of our business strategy and tactical actions related to it.

• Counseling clients on pragmatic resolutions to employee relations matters as they arise in line with business strategy and risk prevention.

• Providing compliance assistance, advice and counsel to Human Resources; particularly in reductions in force and other personnel actions (including analyzing EEO issues), and counsels clients to undertake preventive approaches to employment and labor law matters, working to reduce the risk of litigations, administrative proceedings, governmental investigations and inquiries.

• Responsible for management of litigations and handling governmental investigations, inquiries and other administrative proceedings in the employment and labor law areas.

• Supervises, coordinates and critically reviews work performed by outside counsel.

• Supports Human Resources in affirmative action and equal employment opportunity compliance programs, and provides the full range of legal representation and support for affirmative action plans and programs and equal employment opportunity compliance programs and activities.

• Responsible for providing support for union contract negotiations, contract administration and interpretation, resolution of grievance activity and maintenance of union-free environment where applicable.

• Responsible for developing, reviewing and revising corporate and personnel policies, practices and procedures, employee benefit plan documents and employee communication materials, and for preparing various agreements as requested including non-compete and confidentiality, severance and consulting agreements.

• Responsible to remain informed of legal, regulatory and other developments and to anticipate their impact on the Company's business and strategy in the future, and to provide advance notice to clients and pragmatic, proactive and creative counsel on approaches to these issues.

Experience

• Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience of subject matter expertise in employment-related U.S. laws and regulations.

• Experience with public company requirements.

• Experience counselling on employee relations and organizational development, including experience in risk mitigation related to employee relations, hiring, terminations and workforce reductions.

• Experience in internal investigations.

• Experience defending employment litigations and administrative proceedings, union grievances and arbitrations and managing outside counsel.

• Experience reviewing and drafting policies and employment-related agreements.

• Experience with affirmative action programs.

• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Superior ability to successfully manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.

• Superior communication skills (oral and written) for both legal and non-legal professionals.

• Major law firm and/or in-house experience preferred.

• Law Degree (Juris Doctor or local equivalent) and applicable admission to practice law in the U.S.

Law Degree (Juris Doctor or local equivalent) and applicable admission to practice law in the US; education and experience in relevant area such as human resources and/or industrial and labor relations helpful.
