From belly dancing workshops to a special DJ rink, instrument wars and beat harmonising contests, Vividh'15 promises to give students in Mumbai much to celebrate this month. With footfalls of over 30,000 students each year, the flagship cultural fest of Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal's Pravin Gandhi College Of Law is back this time with a brand new theme, Stuck in The Idiot Box.
The theme aims to provide students with a chance to celebrate all that they love about the world of TV and music. The events are broken up by category and include informals (RJ contests, photo hunt, Mr and Mrs. Vividh), fine arts (caricature making, doodle art, bag designing, comic strip workshops), management events (marketing, tax planning, crisis management), literary arts (word mythology, scrabble, spelling bee), gaming and sports (football, water sports, wrestling), workshops (martial arts, belly dancing, stand-up comedy, image consulting, filmmaking) and performing arts (solo dance, duet dance, ramp walk, beatboxing, karaoke and mono acting).
There are also special online events being held this year such as a short-story writing contest, a horror-story writing contest, photography sessions as well as lessons in how to create your own BuzzFeed. To symbolise its commitment to all things unique and fun, the fest has also chosen a new mascot this year - a golden flying unicorn. Aside from the events, there will also be a number of food, gaming and merchandise stalls available to keep everyone busy and engaged. From the most-awaited student fashion show of the year to special mentoring session for upcoming designers, Spectrum, NIFT Delhi's annual event, is back bigger and better than ever before. Start-up wars
Presented by the institute's entrepreneurship development cell, this three-round contest gives one lucky start-up a chance to win Rs 15 lakh along with a sponsored trip to visit Silicon Valley. The top 45 entries from across India will be evaluated on campus all month long. To help them make the most of this opportunity, each team will be assigned a special mentor who will coach them on their contest presentations. Drishtii, Narsee Monjee College's annual management fest is more than just fun and games.
