Yesterday I reported about the over 300 times the Mexican army has crossed over into the US. Earlier year, the Mexican army drew their rifles on US Border Patrol agents in the US and then shot a Tucson man in Sasabe, Arizona while he was driving while intoxicated. Javier Jose Rodriguez was shot twice and spent three weeks in a Tucson hospital.
After hearing about the January incident when the Mexican army troops drew their weapons on the US Border Patrol agents here in the US, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) ordered the Department of Homeland Security to give answers for what is being done about this and other similar incidents. KVOA News 4 in Tucson reports that as of the end of April, Coburn has not heard back from DHS.
It’s bad enough that our government has virtually invited millions more illegals to cross our border, steal our jobs and deplete government resources, but when our own government does nothing to protect our border from a foreign military presence, that proves that Obama cares nothing for national security. If he did, he would take strong measures to secure our borders from illegals and Mexico’s army.
Now to add insult to injury, the Mexican government has arrested and jailed Marine reservist Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, 25, from Weston, Florida. After serving two tours of duty in Afghanistan, Tahmooressi suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. He moved to San Diego so he could receive the proper treatment for his PTSD.
On March 31, Tahmooressi was driving to meet some friends in the San Diego area. Not knowing the area, he made a wrong turn and ended up across the border in Mexico. Mexican authorities stopped him and when they found all of his possessions including three legally purchased guns in his vehicle, he was arrested and taken to the La Mesa prison in Tijuana. From his jail cell, Tahmooressi told San Diego media:
“I was going to call them after I drove off the exit, but I never got off the exit, I blew right past it. I wasn’t paying attention, thinking I had way farther to go. I ended up in Mexico with no way to turn around.”
Tahmooressi has been charged with three firearms crimes. According to his attorney, Tahmooressi could receive 21 years in prison if found guilty of the charges. The attorney also said that if the Mexican attorney general’s office in Mexico City requests a dismissal of the charges, then the young Marine will be set free and allowed to return to the US.
His mother Jill Tahmooressi told the local media:
“He called me one night and he said in a panicked voice, he said, ‘Mom I’m not going to make it through the night. There’s hit men in here, they have told me they are going to kill me. They’re going to rape and then torture and murder me and they’re going to send me out in a body bag’.”
The frightened reservist tried to escape by climbing a gate and onto a roof, but when a prison guard saw him and started shooting, Tahmooressi surrendered. Still suffering from PSTD, he again panicked and took a light bulb, broke it and stabbed himself in the neck. He was taken to the hospital where he was stitched up. Returning to his cell, prison guards chained him to his cot. His mom says that Mexican officials have told her that her son will soon be moved to a maximum security prison.
Jill Tahmooressi and several others have started protesting in front of the Mexican Consulate in Miami. They want Andrew released. He did nothing wrong except take a wrong turn, but he is being imprisoned for that wrong turn.
The Mexican army has made a wrong turn over 300 times and entered the United States with their weapons and a helicopter. They’ve drawn their weapons on US Border Patrol agents and shot a Tucson man on US soil. None of the members of the Mexican army were detained, arrested or charged with a crime. They were free to return to Mexico without even a reprimand from our government.
Instead of protecting Americans and national security, Obama is off talking about global warming and how wonderful his failed Obamacare program has been. Any other president would be insisting that the Mexican authority free Andrew Tahmooressi immediately or the next time their troops take a wrong turn into the US with their weapons that they’ll see the inside of an American prison. They should be charged with terrorism or espionage or some other serious crime that carries a lot more than 21 years in prison.
But sadly, Obama is too interested in the millions of illegals that will cast illegal votes for Democrats than he is for the American people. I still believe that Obama is the worst traitor in US history and should be charged, convicted and executed accordingly!
